  • Coach of the Year

    Is Anthony Siebold.

Early call but he has his team playing pure Rugby League. Smart and skilful.

Other coaches are left in his wake.

Agree, hate to say it but the Vermin are contenders and Siebold is the main reason for it.

The Burgess boys were terrible last year and all of a sudden they are starting to be the players everybody thought they were capable of being. And then you have the form of John Sutton, he's been sensational. They can win it, just wonder if they have peaked too early though, lot of footy still to be played

          Seibold is doing well.

Coach of the year is an award that really suffers from being awarded before the semis. The goal of the coach is to win premierships, yet the award doesn't take performance in semis into account. Not saying you automatically give the coach of the winning team in the GF the award, but it's unfortunate that the most important games of the season become irrelevant.

Ricky Stuart made 3 GFs in a row, winning a premiership, but didn't get coach of the year once in that period.

Wasn't Stuart coach of the year in 2002?

A lot of it comes down to the quality of your roster and I guess the preseason expectation in line with how things actually turn out.If Ivan Cleary gets the tigers to 8th he would be a big chance for coach of the year or at very least nominated. If we finish 8th and got bundled out it would be seen as a massive failure.i think now the awards have been pushed back to GF week which is better than before the semis as far as the coaching award goes.

I disagree. I think Griffin has done a remarkable job with the Panthers. They have one of the worst injury tolls any club has seen in decades and he has them playing like world beaters. Souths have had the same team for a while and have been tweaked a little but Griffin has had to work miracles.

Two weeks ago it was Mary. A weeks ago it was Hook. . Ten weeks ago Nathan Brown. Let’s wait and see what happens.

Though it’s true that at the moment Souffs are going well.

Daniel Anderson was. Not saying he wasn't a deserving winner, but Sticky overcame a huge injury toll early in the season and went on to win the comp, a comp that the Roosters hadn't been able to win for 27 long, long, long .... long, long, long, years.

The vermin are doing well in part................ to the way the game managers are seeing things this year. They'd probably be winning under Maguire as well.
