  • So glad Brown is not our coach!

Just checked out Knights presser. Nathan Brown spent nearly the whole 10 minute presser blaming Connor Watson for the Knights loss. Mainly because Connor made 2 critical errors in the match. Thankfully we have a coach with integrity, tact and diplomacy. Robbo would never do that. To single out one player and publicly ridicule them is harsh. He also had a dig at the refs, but that’s just bye the bye.

Yeah, different coaches have different styles and there's no 'correct' way of doing it, but Robbo is a class act.

I haven’t watched the press conference but Watson did cost them the game. That doesn’t mean he should be publicly called out by the coach. That’s a bad play.

Actually, strike that. Brown is as much to blame for wanting Watson in the halves. He can’t kick and he certainly can’t pass.

I listened to the entire press conference and had no issue with what he said..
He didn’t call out Connor Watson in my opinion,he was making a point of 20 game players being too inexperienced to win these big games.
He mentioned Connor,Jacob Saifiti,Brock Lamb and even Josh King giving away crucial penalties on 5th tackles which cost them a chance.
I think it’s refreshing to hear a coach say it like it is as opposed to someone in fear of hurting his players feelings..
I know what I would prefer

You should listen to it again, especially the first few minutes. . I don’t think it’s refreshing. I think it’s a coach passing the buck and laying blame on a couple of plays in the game. And I do mean plays not player in that sentence. That all happened in the space of three minutes. What about the other 77 minutes. Anyway my original point was that to me he was singling our Watson for the loss.

Fair enough,I disagree as I believe he was singling out moments from inexperienced players that potentially cost them the game, with Connor being one of them.
Happy to agree to disagree though..

He should slap some under performing players as well that would be refreshing. You would prefer to hear a coach pass the blame for poor preparation and tactics on to young players over a coach who takes responsibility and the buck stops with him, gotcha.

I prefer an honest Coach who says it how it is as opposed to a Coach who will never admit the real problem at hand..Gotcha

"Connor thought with his little head, not his big head."

Connor is a bench player at best. Who wants a guy in their team playing 6 who can’t pass or kick. If anything he could maybe play fullback.

He looked good at fullback in the one game he played for us but with Ponga there he has no chance!
