  • Judiciary Charges - Radley and Manu

    Judiciary Report | Round 9

Two members of the Sydney Roosters NRL squad have been cited by the NRL Match Review Committee following the Club's Round 9 match against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.

Reserve forward Victor Radley has received a Grade Two Careless High Tackle charge for an incident that occurred in the 57th minute of the match on Sea Eagles player Martin Taupau.

The base penalty for the charge is 150 points.

Should the Club enter an Early Guilty plea, Radley will receive 112 points, be unavailable for selection in Round 10 and receive 12 carry-over points.

If the Club elects to enter a Not Guilty plea and is unsuccessful with their case, Radley will again be unavailable for selection in Round 10 while receiving 50 carry-over points.

Winger Joseph Manu has also been cited, receiving a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge for an incident in the 72nd minute of the match involving Dylan Walker.

If the Club elects to take the Early Guilty plea, Manu will be available for selection in Round 10 and hold 75 carry-over points.

Should the Club enter a Not Guilty Plea and be unsuccessful, Manu will be unavailable for selection against the New Zealand Warriors.

The Club has until 12pm on Tuesday to enter a plea.

Looks like the bench will feature Butcher & Baptiste this week. I can't see them fighting the charges, & given how well the officials usually treat, us, they'd probably up the charge on review and give Radley a month off.

so Radley's hit was graded the same as Sam Burgess' king hit on Aiden Seizer, what an absolute joke.

Think about it Fletch, it is a special talent to hit a guy in the head who is much taller than you as opposed to hitting a guy in the head who is falling to the ground. Radleys tackle by definition was Careless as was Burgess tackle On the comparisons Ive made I can see why the same grading has been given out

in terms of force of contact the two tackles aren't in the same ball park.

Fittler embarrassed himself in commentary saying you have to hit above the hips - not knees.

I can't stand Fittler as a commentator. Dumb comments all the time and offers little insight from a man with his standing in the game.
