  • Trent's captain's run interview this week.

Not his normal style. He was very defensive, looks like he is feeling the pressure. Seemed like a batten down the hatches and all men to the pumps type of attitude. Didn't want to talk about Manly at all, just general stuff about us having to improve in all areas. Talked about short turnarounds.... like it was some kind of excuse, that's rubbish because we haven't had any 5 day ones like other teams, and about us training well this week. Normally talks for about 6 minutes but this was less than half that. This is a HUGE game for us and we need to post a convincing win.

We all see things differently, but I didn't think he was defensive. He talked about what a great week the team had had.
One of his mantras is not thinking too much about the opposition, and focusing on ourselves.
But yeah, HUGE game for us!

      Pretty standard interview from Robbo.

Didn't sound like there was many... if any journo's there hence the shortness of it.

Can see what you mean. Wasn’t anywhere near as bullish as he has been in the past. He might’ve finally addressed the handling errors and focused on holding the ball.
Looking through the photos, saw a lot of Tedesco passing the ball of which I don’t think he does naturally, so will look for that play.
Also saw Andrew Johns in Roosters gear, no doubt pumping up Cronk and hopefully telling Friend he needs it on a plate.

We are up for this game but want consistent footy. Front door
        ..it’ll be interesting to see

He always says our focus is on our game but if you look at the teams that beat us their focus is very much on us and shutting down our attack. We need to outsmart our opponents and to do that we need to know their style, weaknesses and how to play them. You can’t just approach each team generically. If we’’re doing that then that would explain our failures.

Andrew Johns is part of the Roosters staff and therefore he has to wear the Roosters gear and he is there nearly every training day. As an old St. Gregs boy I can tell you Tedesco played most of his school footy as a five-eighth, he can definitely pass and kick the ball.

Short turnarounds?? No need to listen to his rubbish if he keeps bringing that up.

Didn’t realise Joey was there most days. Thought just every now and then.
I have yet to see Tedesco’s passing game, other than a tap on

Watch the video for yourself, he doesn't blame short turn around's for anything.

Lose this week and we can start planning the end of season holidays. Seriously we should win today and win well. We have no real excuses to cover for the dumb footy we are spewing out atm.
We are missing only one player, most players are signed for next year, stable club, etc.

He says we have had some short turnarounds, as if it's something to blame our poor performances on. Whereas we haven't had any. And we have probably had the most favourable draw in the comp, and the least travel. So yes he appears to be looking for excuses and defensive. Watch it again yourself, and try to refrain from making lame comments. .

I've watched it, he was asked about preparation coming off the long turn around and he made a comparative comment compared to our last couple of weeks where the turn around's were shorter.

Me telling people people to watch it for themselves instead of taking you at your word is only 'lame' because I'm ruining the story you want to push.

If the Roosters lose to Manly, who are in tatters, then I'd say several people's job security will be questioned.
