Funny how we are trying to make ourselves feel better by comparing to Many and the Cowboys.
The difference is after our embarrassing effort against the Cowboys last year we went out and bought the worlds best halfback and the worlds best fullback, and added it to an already strong outfit..
Our forwards were humiliated in the papers all offseason which one would think would light a fire inside them to start the year with a chip on their shoulder..
Our coach fronts the media and talks confidently about “Roosters style” which instills so much confidence in all of us only to be 3 wins 3 losses to start the season..
We are well below par and need something to change otherwise we’re gone!

The other teams on the same win/loss 3/3 are:
      Storm, Rabbits, Broncos, Titans, Knights

Are we on par with them or going better?
      ..it’ll be interesting to see

Expectations on us were higher hence why we were favourites, which I clearly stated..

I'm not taking the piss, just wanted an opinion (yours or someone else's) of how we rate next to these teams.

I know you’re not mate and apologise if I came across that way..
Here is how I see it:
Rabbits added Gagai and weren’t expected to do much this year
Broncos lost Hunt and most picked them to miss the 8 this year
Titans don’t have the roster to be in the same breath as ours
Knights are a new team still needing time to gel
Storm lost Cronk,Tohu Harris and Jordan McLean but added Kasiano.

So in my opinion we should be going better than those teams mentioned as Robbo clearly stated “it won’t take time for our players to gel as they should click straight away” which hasn’t happened..
Also we have been dominated in the forwards which is an area we haven’t bothered improving over the offseason.
We were also instilled as favourites by most based on our roster, hence why I think we should be higher.
Even Saints have added a new halfback and prop but haven’t missed a beat,we have no excuses I believe..

              Agree in that no excuses.

Perhaps Johns was suggesting it would take us some time knowing we are severely limited having Friend at DH?

Dragons also Dugan gone and Dufty slotted in beautifully at Fullback.

West Tigers also had an revamped spine and front row and they have also hit the ground running.....

Both those clubs have targeted strong experienced forwards in their recruitment over the past year or two in the Dragons case...

I see it similarly except Storm being the premiers having the edge over us. Saints have bought well and far exceeded most predictions, especially binding together so quickly.

Saints also breakdown the theory of short preseason, as they had many new recruits involved in the World Cup who would've have limited a preseason with a brand new club.

I had no issues with Jonhs comment regarding the halves needing time to gel.
What concerned me was Robbo coming out straight after Johns comments and refuting what he said, insisting confidently the halves don’t need time to gel and they will fire right away..
Those comments are the reasons I’m concerned whether Robbo knows what’s actually going on behind his confident persona.

                    Hahaha,
I was having a subtle dig at Friend by Johns suggesting it would take the team time to gel, don't read too much into my comment about that..
I am starting to wonder if Robbo is in control of the situation atm.....

Seems like Robbo’s words aren’t reflective on team performances at the moment, hope that changes soon..

What does Joey actually do with our team, he can't even teach Latrell to turn the ball the other way from the kick off so he can do a high torpedo kick like Kyle Feldt does. Those types of kick offs are hard to catch and allow the defence to pin the first tackler around the 10 metre line. Instead we have our heart in our mouths that he won't kick it out on the full.

Agree with you regarding Johns, total waste of money and time..
Since he’s been at the Club I haven’t seen massive improvements in our halves,we get the same style of play every week

I've heard that most of John's input is ultimately not take on board by the coaching staff.
