Okay but so does every other hooker? Its their job. Except almost every other hooker has a running game.
It was reported before the season started that a new "veteran signing" of a team approached his coach trying to convince him to play a rookie at dummy half instead of the custodian hooker of the team because the rookie had more potential. I guess we all know who that article was referring to now don't we?
Jake is a hooker that cant even pass to his right, every time we play the ball right he delivers it too slow and too high either slowing down Cronk/Keary because they have to readjust to catch the ball or jump to catch it. If you havent noticed yet, watch Friend closely out of dummy half and you will realize.
Last night he was giving Cronk poor service all night and we looked bland in attack, getting sliced up in the middle by Damien Cook time and time again, Cook showed what a real hooker should be doing. Then Victor Radley came on and changed our offensive tempo completely like he's done all year when he comes on.
Finally Radley is on and we are wrestling the game back and gaining momentum again and Robbo takes off Radley for Friend and what does he do? Plays short side off dummy half with nobody in support while Cronk is screaming for the ball and chips it in the ingoal on the full giving Rabbitohs back the momentum swing and the 7 tackle set..
He couldnt even get a proper pass out of the scrum and had the ball rolling towards Coops. Such great service
At least Robbo could recognise that we needed an attacking spark and took Friend off again in the 70th minute but by then it was too late.
ROBBO! Cant you see what we do? Last week friend played 20-30 min with Radley playing hooker most the night and we thrashed the sharks, the week after we get Jake back into the big minutes and we lose!
Honestly we should of been smashed by 30 with that shocking defense through the middle in the first half,
Please get Radley as the starting hooker. He provides attack out of dummy half and we all know he can put on a big shot and is fearless in defense! And have Kurt Baptiste, who is a very attacking minded hooker as our utility. I dont even think we would need new forwards if Radley was our primary hooker, Radley utilizes them well like when we played against a strong pack like the Sharks and he had big minutes.
Teddy was one of our better players on the day but has to stop with that selfish play, Radley just put you through a hole and you could of put him right under the posts but he decides to dummy and got tackled. Game could of been alot different, if he had decided to pass it.
Keary also had a shocker throwing a couple of intercepts..
Our attack is super predictable with that sweep play seeming to be our only weapon. Cronk > Keary > Teddy, Teddy gets rushed and does an attempted touch pass to nobody or gets smashed..
Robbo needs to f*** Friend off for a week and see how well we play.
