  • Running on reputation not good enough.

Just looking at the odds for tonight , I don't know how they put us as favorites ?
I was disgusted with last week's effort , and now we have a weak link on the wing that the opposition will target.
Our forwards have no 2nd play options , Corder dives to the ground in the hope of a quick play the ball , then gets up and has to slow down to use his foot.
Think of a new game plan boys!

We cant get an offload away , hopeless. At least try something.

I hope we win tonight , it will be a loooong weekend if we don't

The thing that helped most with the win over the Bulldogs was the lose to the Tigers so Im hoping the loss to the Warriors will help them win tonight. I think that is what the bookies are thinking also.

With this roster we cant be as bad as last week - everything went wrong.

Well - RR could be just as bad, that's a significant worry.

It's ridiculous that we are favourites. Sharks are a much tougher team than us. Full of mongrels. I don't expect to win but who knows with our team.

Bit concerning the media reports about Tedesco not fitting in with our culture.

And on a different subject, anyone else think we should be getting more out of Matto in attack? The guy is a giant, with decent pace. He should be running over the top of people.

Matto just hasn't taken that next step in my opinion. He is very solid but looks like he is playing very conservatively, never looking to offload or create second phase play, possibly under coaches instructions???
I haven't heard the rumblings about Tedesco, no doubt he'd be getting frustrated though. Our pack is possibly laying a worse platform than the Tigers did, how the **** is that even possible

I haven't heard anything about Teddy not fitting in with our culture - more about struggling to find where he fits in within the system and shapes that we play. And that is understandable, given he no longer the centre of attention like he was at the Tiges and cannot demand the ball and expect to get it. He is having to change the way he plays the game, which will take a few rounds of footy I reckon.

Not sure why everyone expected our team to be on the front foot and firing from day 1 - some of our new blokes only joined the squad in January due to the World Cup and the pre-season injury to Keary put the combos even further behind. The Chooks are still a work in progress and will be for a few more weeks I reckon. If there's no improvement by mid season, then start worrying (about 10 rounds away).

Once again the culture word comes up but what is our culture? Teddy came full of enthusiasm wanting to play for the club he supports. Is enthusiasm not part of our culture? Maybe he should ‘curb his enthusiasm’?

As for your second paragraph you can argue that St George had some significant changes in Hunt and Graham and they’re doing nicely and this on the fact that Mary is the coach, someone we’ve laughed at. Then there’s the Warriors with 3 big changes in Blake, Harris and that grub Blair and they too are looking good.

I’d be shocked if we won, but equally we *should* win with the side we have.

We have a new half and fullback - half our spine. One could say the 2 most important positions on the field. And no one can tell me a team can seamlessly transition from one halfback who some of them have played with the majority of their career to another halfback who has spent the past 14 seasons in a different team and system.

The DragQueens and Warriors are looking good after round 4 - let's see where they sit after round 24, which is when it counts. How many times have these 2 teams in particular looked the goods only to disappoint when it counts, the Warriors in particular.

Remember, by the end of the weekend we will still have as many points if not more than NQ who were touted pre-season as our main competition for the comp. They are struggling to find their rythym having Thurston and Scott back in the side, even though they've been part of club and 'culture'? for years!

Halback isn’t the problem this year and it wasn’t the problem last year; we still have the same issues from the last 2 seasons and it all revolves around our forward pack.

We don't even look for an offload , at least Pearce could offload more than our forwards.

I always hoped that Cordner would learn from Sonny Bill , but after Sonny left Corder gave up the offload.
I've seen him do it , but now he just dives for the ground , doesn't even look like offloading.

This slowing down the play the ball blitz , get your foot to it has slowed things down if anything , just my opinion.

Keith makes a good point about Cordner. Last week Cordner made a half break but rather than pinning his ears back, he did his usual dive to the ground out of habit. As for the lack of offloads from the Roosters forwards, it makes the forwards easy pickings for opposition defenses.
