  • Kurt Baptiste, FPN, Nat Butcher

    Hey guys,
Does anybody have an overview of how Kurt Baptiste, FPN and Nat Butcher are playing for Wyong? I have read Kurt is doing quite well. I would love to have him on the field for his attacking game out of hooker.
Everybody on facebook is calling for FPN to get a run but I remember the last time he played for us it was woeful. Drop ball after drop ball, penalty after penalty.. So pretty much everything that happened with the whole team last week. No thanks.

If Robinson plays another crap game this week, him being dropped could be a blessing in disguise. Robbo could have Robinson drop out of the week slot back into reserve grade, Aubbo from the bench to the centre (I know we hate 2nd rowers in the centre's but hear me out). Radley could be the utility lock as he's been playing lately anyway and Kurt Baptiste could come into the utility role giving us more of an attacking spark.

    1. Teddy
    2. Latrell
    3. Aubbo
    4. Manu
    5. Fergo
    6. Keary
    7. Cronk
    8. SST
    9. Friend
    10. JWH
    11. Cordner
    12. Matto
    13. Liu
    14. Baptiste
    15. Radley (Playing lock, 2nd row like he's been doing the past few weeks)
    16. Tetevano
    17. Napa

    What do you guys think?

FPN has a role in this club that he loves , but it doesn't involve him playing first grade.
The "Fans of the Farmer" club is up and running now, I have at least two confirmed members, both of whom are very formidable.....
I don't mind Aubbo in the centres if we haven't got better options.
Radley deserves a spot in the 17, but I'm not sure how he'd be best utilised.
I know nothing of Baptiste, but am getting so frustrated with Jakes work outta dummy half , I'm open to experimentation.
Butcher looks ok, but hard to call until we see more of him in first grade.

One youngster on our books whos work ethic and ball skills impresses me is Porter.

IMO, Aubbo should only be used in the centres in an emergency due to injury. Slow, great defender but not in attack.

No way should Latrell be on the wing. He needs as much ball as possible. Has to be closer to the action.

I think Reece needs the benefit of the doubt. He's got a track record as a good winger

I think if Reece shows more of the same this week, it will be classified as an emergency. He would be considered a liability and constantly attacked down his side.
Last year when Matterson and Aubbo played centre what Robbo did was, he had Matterson and Aubbo playing centres when defending with Latrell and Fergo on the wing. But when attacking they swapped around with Latrell and Fergo playing centre and those 2nd row boys moved out to the wings.

          It's a tough one.
I don't like the "off with his head" reactions after 1 or 2 poor games , but if we had other options, Reece would be trying to get back into the swing of league by playing for Wyong.
Our backline depth is proving a weakness after two unlucky injuries.

Baptiste was a fine backup for Hodgson at the Raiders, has an attacking mindset that we need from dummy half.
PLEASE ROBBO MAKE SOME CHANGES! My minor premier bet depends on it.

              I admire you for that.
I didn't really think we would win the minor premiership this year, but I was confident of top 4.
My high hopes were more 2019.

I still think Reece is good enough to cover for Toups,he just needs a confidence game to get himself going..

I think that is a bit harsh. It was his first game back after not playing for a while. I found his hit-up were quite strong - he always went past the advantage point and typical Frank he gets a quick play the ball away.

Not saying he is up to first grade standard but he is good back up.

If a winger gets injured replace them with a winger. Don't shuffle centres, second rowers and bench utility's for the sake of a winger.

Frank Paul is playing more like a medicine ball than a wrecking ball. He needs match fitness and drop weight. Certainly the Roosters could use the old FPN who used to charge into the defensive lines and pop a pass away.....maybe those days are gone

Ive seen enough of Kurt Baptiste for Wyong to know that he is a first grader.....and he posses all the qualities we need from dummy half that we are lacking. Problem is you cant carry Friend, Radley and Baptiste in the one team......and Radley is playing too well to be dropped and Friend is one of Robbo's untouchables.Add he is the captain and has signed to the club for a couple more years then dont hold your breath that he will be dropped

Nat Butcher will play first grade soon. It will be interesting to see how he handles the step up

What does everyone think about Josh Mantellato on the wing? Save Latrell from goalkicking and save us all from Latrells kick offs

Exactly. Hasn't bent the line with ball in hand for years, if he sees FG with us again we're well and truly ****ed

the human cue ball is excellent coming off the bench into the hooking role. That was evident during his time at Canberra. I just hope that if it does happen that he gets some good minutes and not just 5-10mins either side of the break.
