  • One thing that hasn’t been mentioned...

No one has mentioned that none of the predicted top 4 teams to take the title are doing well and you can also include the broncos in there as well. One predicted top 4 team hasn’t even won a game. The top 4 teams today on the ladder is like WTF are they doing there? Why is that? Do all teams have talent equally distributed?

I think it has something to do with the rules of the game being applied by the officials.

Penalties. Sharks were beaten in their first two games fair and square, by tries. I have a suspicion that Flanagan saw what was going on, and surprise surprise Sharks have scored equal tries with the opposition but ended up winning those last 2 games and getting points on the ladder purely through penalty goals alone. Typical Sharks.

But there's such a long way to go. A quick look at last season and half the 8 at this stage didn't make the final 8.

There are usually upsets in the first month or so every year. More so this year. The amount of player movement between the clubs has something to do with it re new combinations etc.

The only consistent variable from the last few years, is the Merge being April/May Premiers again lol

I’ve said it before that there is a very good spread of talent across all clubs. That, plus the penalties leveling the playing field and the usual suspects not getting the benefit from them is making it a very even comp. The sides that weren’t spotlighted over the off season have been able to prepare very well and it’s showing. This comp won’t be won on talent alone. It will be won by the smartest team with the most clever support network.

            Parramatta have caught Hayne disease.
Maybe they holidayed on the Gold Coast?
Apparently it can take a year or longer to recover from this affliction.
But I'm sure they'll be fine because they have Brad Arthur. Is'nt he supposed to be the best coach that ever walked the Earth?

I'm just very upset to see bronco pty ltd struggling.
            It breaks my heart.
The game as a whole loses something important when Wayne Bennett isn't walking around with his usual sunny disposition.

I was thinking about this after the game last week.

The one thing I was expecting was to see the Warriors start each half strong and finish weak. This did not happen due to the number of stoppages, penalties in particular, but errors as well.

The Warriors were good, no doubt, and they seem fitter, but due to the officiating and our errors, attrition did not play a role.

If this penalty splurge continues consistently all year, the Warriors are specials for the GF.

Merge and Riff are overachieving, but deserve to be in the 8. Tigpies are WTF, they will fall away in the second half of the year, post Origin.

stuff the Donkeys. That one city team has had everything handed to them for a very very long time and they still have nothing to show for it from the past 11 years. The days of fearing the broncos are long past and skellator isn’t helping their cause one bit.

Fitness is they key at the moment.
The coaches of the sides on top in round 4 all had massive points to prove or would likely be facing the the sack, so have whipped their sides into shape physically. Well done but it's early yet.
                    ..it’ll be interesting to see

But I love the broncos pty ltd because I live in QLD
And Skelator is a league legend whose mere presense brightens everyones day.
The reason broncos pty ltd is a one city team is because they are Brisbane.
Without them the place would slip into immediate anarchy and decay.

Maybe the Storm, Cowboys, Sharks, Roosters & Eels have an aged roster that have maybe reached their used by date.

11 years and nothing to show for all their attempts to buy a premiership. We do it as well but at least we’ve got silverware for our efforts.

As a dedicated long term fan (sorry, shareholder) of bronco pty ltd, I take extreme offence to your post. I am considering dobbing you in to skelator.

Haha... now that would be funny! I hope he mentions me in his next presser before he walks out early again.
