  • An Open Letter to the Sydney Roosters

    Dear Sydney Roosters,

I have been a loyal fan of this club since 1974 and it saddens me immensely to see the current state of our club.

Firstly, there is no respect for our club, it's history and traditions. The welfare of the players seems more important than that of our club. No one should be bigger than our club.

Secondly, the management of this club promised "New Attitude: New Beginnings" in 2010. Nothing has changed for me, if anything it is worse.

Also, the disharmony between the players is obviously impacting our performance.

Poor Jack Gibson (RIP) would be rolling in his grave at the state of our club.

In all successful teams (look at Man Utd), the Head Coach is responsible for the players and their performance. He should have the final say on who gets signed, who gets released, who plays where. The role of the board should be to support him, if he fails, he is shown the door. It is pretty obvious to me, that Brian Smith can only do half his job.

Carney, Myles and FPN must go. I would prefer to lose week in, week out than to have players who have no respect for our club.

It is time to stand up and act.

    Yours,
    Anthony

Enough with the open letters eh. There are plenty of other threads if you want to state your opinion.
