Mitchell tried to kick, missed the ball and knocked on. Next set, Cronk puts in a pin-point accurate kick for Ferguson to dive over. Not saying that is typical Pearce, but really highlighted the difference between the two last night.

Already in his first 3 games in rooster colours, the master cronk has put in a 40/20 (in his first game) and a pin point chip kick inside our half that led directly to a try (in yesterday's game). I wonder how many 40/20s pearce has pulled off in his rooster career, I barely recall one. I am also barely able to recall any chip kicks he has managed to pull off with precision like cronk did, in fact I barely can recall Pearce even trying a chip kick in our colours.

3 Cronk kicks for tries and not to mention the way he put Manu away with that round the corner pass. It just astounds me that there were idiots saying that Cronk was carried by Smith and Slater and Pearce was a better halfback.

Blind allegiance to the club can obscure what should be obvious reality. In younger days I was guilty of it myself. Always thought Kevin Junee was a better half than Bill Smith and that Smith was just lucky he played for the Dragons. I mellowed out in time. Smith was a great half. Cronk is too and our fellow Roosters are coming around to this realisation. Pearce had ability but not the stuff that wins Golden Boots and Dally M awards. With the team we had in 2013 he should have. But it was Maloney who delivered. And I have to agree with your earlier comment on another forum, that his party boy antics set a bad example for the young ones coming through.
