I didn't notice it posted during the game, either. Had to find it out from other sources. Should be a few busloads coming down from Newcastle next week, so let's all get out there!

Only the Manly v Parra game had a worse crowd.

In saying that, they had a Sunday afternoon game. We had the worst time slot.

Of course you won't hear anyone bagging either of those clubs.

Manly Parra was played in ridiculous heat. Im surprised they didnt reschedule it a bit.

                Brad Arthur would concur.

I must admit that I actually like it when the crowd is under 8,000.
Everything is better like the parking the beer queues the food queues the bathrooms. You get to have a whole row to yourself & if your lucky a whole bay to yourself.
My favourite game is the Roosters v Gold Coast late July on a cold wet Saturday night.

I like smaller stadiums because you can have a crowd of like 8000 and it still feels big (e.g. Canberra style). Dunno why the NRL insists on forcing clubs to use frigging huge stadiums.

Saving a few thousand for a wet Saturday night during the SOO series when nobody is there.

Watching the first game of the AFL Season Richmond vs Carlton and they get over 90,000 and the NRL cannot even pack out any of their grounds - why is that ?? - surely something is going to give as broadcasters must be embarrassed showing grounds with so many empty seats especially in Sydney during their telecasts
                            - Sydney will end up losing the GF when it is open for bids again for sure and certain.

Just under 12000 last night - Wests Tigers vs Broncos for instance

Looking at the Richmond AFL site one of 9 Melbourne based teams they have over 86,000 members- over 90,000 for their first home game of the season vs Carlton-Roosters one of 9 Sydney based NRL sides have just on 16,000 members and just over 12,000 for their first home game. Sure they played at the MCG which can hold 100,000 but 9/10 of the ground was full compared to 1/4 or less for the Roosters first home game.

No club will ever survive if they are getting 8000 or less to their games in the NRL- most make a loss from their football operations - The NRL need to do more in conjunction will clubs to not only address game day attendances but to also get people to become members one has to say.

you will see a lot of clubs fold if 8000 or less is their home crowds though - most teams make a significant loss on their football operations and this is not sustainable into the future- If football was many clubs sole business they would be in administration and or be insolvent long ago.
