  • Would you resign him if you were robbo?

BLAKE FERGUSON! What a monster he is turning out to be this season. It seems like he is really winding back the clock and looking like the Fergo from his Canberra days, what we’ve all been waiting for since we signed him back in 2015. We know he’s only been resigned last year to a 1 year contract and will be off contract at the end of this season. And I know he’s copped a lot of criticism prior to this year with a lot of people wanting him out he to his constant drop balls and brain snaps. But after what he’s shown this year, would you want him resigned? He had better offers to go to other clubs last year on bigger money but he took a pay cut to play for us this year, how could you not love that.

And it seems the booze ban he has set on himself has had an effect on his game.

Fergos always been one of my favourite players and now I’m just glad to see him firing. I for one hope we lock him in for another couple years (if we have the funds)
It would be disastrous for us to let him go if he keeps playing like this all year

At this point we will have 3/5 of our backline our during origin time (Fergo, Teddy & possibly Lats) which sucks because we have not much depth in that department other then Reece Robinson

    Would resign BLAKE FERGUSON?

1 year contracts with bonuses built into it is the way I would go with Fergo.
He is a very talented rough tough player that can reach the highest heights but can also reach the lowest lows.
I think he likes playing for the Chooks so I say keep taking a punt on him.

Depending on how much he wants as there is a downside as we have all seen.

2 games into the season I'd have to be undecided.

I would as long as there are clauses in the contract for going of the rails etc....nothing wrong with a quiet drink or two but if he is on a alcohol ban then all credit to him.

Flawed genius but I would hate to see him leave and tear it up for someone else or even worse leave and fall into oblivion. I think he really loves the Roosters too.

I’d resign him. I criticise him a lot but justly. However he is extremely talented and in a side with Cronk, Tedesco and Keary he ads a hell of a lot when he gets things right. I hope that he is resigned.

Very tricky situation in that if he ends up continuing on with the stellar start to the season he has had and brains it this year, there could be other clubs circling him and could more than likely offer him more than us for his services or be offering a more attractive longer term deal. The thought of him playing for a Storm, Broncos or Cows outfit scares me.

Fk me dead, weve got a lot of knee-jerk reactionary posts going right now.

I've never been Fergos biggest fan to date, but I concede he has been phenomenal the last 2 weeks. But a sunny day doesn't make a summer.

If he is still playing like this post - Origin, then definitely a re sign priority.

I’d say if he continues to play like this they will resign him / commence negotiations before asking price goes up too much

A rainy day breaks a drought tho. Let’s just hope that with Fergo, when it rains, it pours! The first two rounds, the floodgates have been opened.

I'd sign him tonight - for the right price.

Early days yet, but if he keeps this sort of form going, absolutely re-sign him ....... not resign him !

I think 1 or 2 year contracts are best to keep Fergobeast focused on performing consistently. Win win for him and the club.

Just asked this question on another thread?

I think commence negotiations now before his asking price goes up. Two year extension with a clause that if there's off trouble we can pull out
