    Btw, it's hot water you use, not boiling hot as it would burn you. This goes for all marine stings/bites. Also, if it was a barb, doubt that he would just have ripped it out on the spot, they are made to not be pulled out easily, unless he's Rambo, he would have been taken to hospital and had it removed under local. So, if he was taken to casualty then maybe stingray, otherwise bluebottle is more likely.

      All this I knew BTW, but thanks. FWIW I referred to it as a ,bite, because a number of friends and family colloquially refer to stingray injuries as bites.

        Thank goodness...I was thinking the cure was worse than the disease..

He should play as per the game plan, maybe only a tiny bit less agile than normal. I doubt that the injury would have any influence on his leadership skills though. I do like the shark attack story with Dr Nick Frankenstein sewing his head back on. It does ask the question though, what if the stitches broke and his head fell off and knocked the ball forward, resulting in a try. Would that be ruled a knock on?
