Brawlboy: The sole reason you are on this internet forum is to communicate with others in regard to a shared interest, the Roosters. You can't fix pronunciation when you can't hear it. I made a very clear statement of my opinion that players who represent Easts should be offered, at least a modicum, of respect from the fans. That is all. I have been advocating for the removal of Pearce from the team for many years, but at the same time I have been cheering him on every time he slipped the tricolours on. Everybody who has ever worked for me and has moved on to another job, I wished them the best of luck as well. I think that you share this belief with me, but maybe you are being too easily triggered when you wish to censor like minded fans wishing an old boy the best. Good riddance to Pearce I say, but good luck to him as well. I can't believe we lost as well.

Rented: I have been registered at this forum since its beginning. I usually just read it, rarely contributing. I have decided to contribute more this season. Get along now and keep on marking out your territory.

Screw Newcastle and screw anyone on here referring to Newcastle as their second favourite team.
Crikey, harsh. Not sure how many ex-Roosters had a choice to stay with us. The supporters aren't bogans, saying that makes you sound elitist, they are country people.

And it's interesting to see hoe ex-Roosters go elsewhere. Just another thing to make the games more enjoyable.

Or do you just watch one team?

I agree, more like Wet Nappy Napa than Moz Morley...

I think Roman Numerals is a good bloke, just disagree with him regarding his stance, but totally understand his point.

Uncalled for behaviour from me Trakky Daks, and I'm sorry. But it is a long season ahead, I'm sure I will warm into it with some anger, aggression and cheapshots.

          Just not today....

I hope so Brawler. It’s been a long time but “Bring back the Biff”. The games gone soft.

Brawlboy: You're a good judge of character ... LOL. Just so that you and others don't assume my moniker is a dig at the pitiful 1966 season that we had, it is a dig at myself. My dad took me to my first Easts game in 1966, after which I became a fan. My (then) lack of reason is what I find funny, considering that we didn't win a single game that year.

                Well said Flipper Hands.

Anyway, I consider myself a proud bogan...and welcome others to support our team/game.

More bogans less "Thirteens" would work better.

I am in the same boat and heard of others as well who didn’t know much about footy but became lifetime fans of one of the two clubs from the first game they ever attended.

Yeah, once you pick up the flag you are there for eternity. I feel for those, such as my brother who was/is a Newton fan, and hasn't had a team to support for nearly 40 years. I have for a long time wished we had a multi division competition with promotion and relegation. Anyway, watching the Dogs versus Storm match ....... we are so lucky to have not played either of them today, they would have skinned us alive.

                      EDIT: Newtown, not Newton.

They both look sharp, almost like they haven’t had an off season. What does that say for us?

Maybe our expectations have been over inflated with the belief that Cronk and Tedesco would lead us to the promised land before we paid our dues. I am still confident that season will be ours, just probably not as easily as I had hoped. Friend is a lot more of a problem for us than many suspect. Cronk, unless he has made himself unavailable for the position, should be made captain poste haste.

Fittler is the greatest Rooster I have seen but he is number 4 of all time for mine.

Messenger is seminal possibly the reason for League being such a strong sport in the Eastern States of Australia, Brown could have been the greatest player ever and Artie is an immortal.....
Good points mate. It’s hard to say who is the greatest when we have 110 years of history to look back on with so many legendary players to have been blessed wear the jersey.

The things I have read about Dally Messenger are truly remarkable; he sounds like the Rugby League comparison to Don Bradman and was every bit entertaining. Without him the game wouldn’t exist either, imagine 110 years of a sport essentially resting on one blokes shoulders.

I don’t give what up? I was curious why he didn’t put Brad Fittler in the top 3 Roosters players of all time and he/she responded.

Cheers Roman Numerals and thanks for telling us the story behind your handle.

Great stuff and kudos to you for sticking with the mighty Roosters, you must have been a masochist back then mate lol.......
