It has become obvious that the players arent putting in for him,and he cant get the best out of them anymore!
We can persist with him for as long as we like, but it will definetly come at a cost for our great club..
He has lost his players, and it is plain to see.
For the roster we have, our performances are just not up to standard!
Is it just me or do some of the high priced "players" need to have their contract ripped up and told to get out before they start respecting the structures in place - good or bad?
When players decide when and how they will play - you know you have massive problems. People can say what they like about Bennett but he wouldn't put up with that sort of crap.
You are absolutely right that the performances are sub-standard!

According to most on this site though, its not smith's fault, he's just the coach, he's not responsible for anything other than turning up to the press conferences.Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.

Look at St.Benny the last 2-3 years, most of the time he can get the best out of his players and it shows in their performances.
They want to do all they can to win for the guy,no matter who and where they play you can see the desire in the team.
I think Smith has lost the respect of his players, they seem to not care less.Yesterday was more evident than ever before..imo

So we sack the coach every time we have a bad year do we - at this rate there won't be enough coaches in the NRL to meet the demand, and the good coaches will give us a wide berth because they know it's a poisoned challice.
More importantly, success will not come no matter who the coach isif the attitude of the players doesn't change. And they seem to have let 2010 go to their head completely and believe they no longer have to listen to anyone because they are that good. They appear to be so delusional they don't seem to have comprehended this year's performances.
People can harp on about Bennett all they like but the fact is he's not available so no wishing for the unobtainable.
It's the players who need their backside kicked more than the coaching staff. You can give these blokes all the game plans and instructions in the world but if they choose not to follow them out on the field, there's not much any coach can do. And with our injury toll this year, axing players to the Jets hasn't really been an option.

The coach has questions to answer. But I can't put all the blame on him when you have some players 2 in particular who have seen 3 coaches sacked.
Get rid of all the deadwood and let's see what we can do.

I'm here to defend Anthony Mitchell. Some of you, who know the game, see his worth and what he adds to the team in terms of enthusiasm, DH service, ticker and creativity. Even yesterday, he comes out gets our team on the front foot and mans up in defence. Sh!t he must be giving up close to 40kg on some of those heifers, but still he stands in front of them and gives his all. Some others, not mentioning names, stand in front of opposing players and try to tickle them to death with their defense.

That's the Roosters management way it seems.
