Australia halfback Cooper Cronk announces shock representative retirement

LEAGUECOOPER Cronk has decided to end his representative career.

The 33-year-old used Australia’s 6-0 World Cup final victory over England has his swan song as he prepares for life after Melbourne.

Cronk, who joins the Roosters on a two-year-deal from next season, will put his focus on club football.

Cronk matched Johnathan Thurston’s green-and-gold record in the final, surpassing Souths Immortal Clive Churchill on Australia’s list of all-time appearances with his 38th international.

      More to come ...

I have been on the alcapone with Turk and he told me that Freddy Fittler rang him to let him know he is also over the moon with Cronk's rep retirement...

There’s no way The Roosters made him retire from rep footy. No chance.

We didn't, Cronk is goal driven and there's nothing left in rep footy for him to achieve, whilst some big ones in club football to mark off. (dual club premiership winner, back-to-back premierships, premiership without Smith or Bellamy)

Does this mean, Pearce - the new Australian half back. Imagine that.

he’ll be asking for 1.5 mil a season.
