well considering the Cook Island only have a women's team, it's no wonder he's upset that he couldn't make that team.

That was such a great game and he was absolutely fantastic. It wasn’t our prelim final though, it was the Battle for the MP game. The prelim was against Newcastle where he was also very good.

There's been a lot of replays of old games on Fox since seasons end and I have watched quite a few of the games involving the Roosters and paid particular attention to Napa. His leg speed was so much faster back in 13/14/15 then it was this year and as a result he was much more effective at taking the ball forward. I wonder if the fact he's playing longer minutes is having an effect on his playing style. I wonder if he's conserving himself a bit knowing that he is playing 55-60 minutes instead of the 40 or so he was playing back in those early seasons? Whatever it is, somebody needs to sit him down and show him video from a few years ago and compare it to video from this year, he will soon see the issue

Napa is still a child in terms of prop development,

to judge him now is premature

to me his performance the past year is typical of the brief pause young props can go through before the next step

he has massive potential & cannot be released IMO

In review JWH deserves attention given his potential should be now realised

the Crichton issue is about second row NOT PROP don't mix them up

Every off season Napa is leaving us.

I don't get it, unless he is really unsettled?

Would people be happy knowing Matt Eisenhuth averaged 20 metres more a game than Napa. I am willing to bet most people would have to google his name to even find out who he is. As a comparison David Klemmer and Reagen Campbell-Gillard are both younger than Napa.

Matt Eisenhuth would have played less games and so those stats would be probably be skewiffed in his favour. And I didn't have to google him - he plays for the TigPies and is Gallen's cousin, poor bugger. Has overcome a lot to make it in the NRL and seems a good prospect for them from the games he's played.

Some props mature quicker than others - on and off the field. I suspect Dylan is a slow learner in both and patience may be required. If the Chooks aren't willing to be patient I'm sure there are other clubs who will be. There are some props who don't make their debut til their mid 20s.

Im a big fan of Eisenhuth.

Massive debut year with plenty of scope for improvement.

Did I ever mention the term Flog???

                      The FlogPen .

                      You know it makes sense.

He played 11 games. You can't really say playing this number skews the stats in his favour. They were his first 11 NRL matches, his playing time could have been more limited and as he adjusted to the pace, his stats could have improved if he played more. I understand players peak and mature and all those things. However Napa is on reportedly $700k a season, which would have him paid alongside the very top front rowers in the game. This can't be ignored and has to be considered when decisions come to keeping and letting players go. If the club thinks they can get the same or more from someone for half the price, they might.

Think of it this way, if you were paying Telstra $120 a month for broadband for say a 200 GB a month download limit, at 50 MBs per second download speed. You then saw an ad for a competitor that offered 500 GB for $90 a month with 100MB per second. Would you just stick with Telstra or move to the competitor. These are the sorts of decisions a club makes with regards to its salary cap. When paying Napa $700K a year, the club has to compare his performance to similar paid players, not compare him to no names on $150K a year. Some people seem happy to do so (not saying you btw). If they think he is not providing value for his salary, then they may decide to move him on.

In that case, wouldn't the club have been better off actually looking into Napa stats and comparing him to other players BEFORE signing him to a $700K contract. I mean, it can't be that hard can it?

Supporters are bagging the players like Napa and Pearce because they/were on huge contracts - how about we take a closer look at why these contracts were offered in the first place, and perhaps question the decision making of those at the club who made the decision to offer the players the inflated amount.

I mean everyone on here keeps saying everyone wants to play for the Chooks, so we shouldn't have to pay overs like some other clubs surely??

I would happily have Eisenhuth in the Chooks squad, despite his connection to grubby Gallen. We can't choose our families. Every club needs some cheapies like him at their club, and the Chooks currently have a few decent ones of their own, ie Vunacecke, they just chose not to make much use of them in 2017.
