Pearce is pretty good at only producing one good half of footy a week, so theoretically he gets an extra 13 weeks off.

Most of the park footy players get bashed and many of those effectively after factoring medical, gear and travel expenses end up paying for the privilege.

Playing park footy is a big risk when you put it like that.
I was more thinking 8 weeks off a year is probably needed for their bodies to recover from the physical demands of the game.
I personally hope he stays & plays hooker to a higher level than what Friend does.I would release Friend if it was up to me.

8 weeks is probably fair considering the amount they get punished and push their bodies to extremes as professional athletes. But in the context to the average every day supporter it was a bit cringe worthy to air it.

I wonder if the Xmas break is counted in the 8 weeks break and if they get knocked out early before the finals lol?
