Stay go, dont care he has Cronks coat tails to ride on now

Pearce has known his time could be up since negotiations started with Cronk so he has been probably been thinking about the future for at least 3-4 weeks already.
Put it this way, I have worked hard for my employer for over 20 years plus additional study etc in my own time that I have paid for.
I have put in countless thousands of hours to improve at my profession, etc plus I get well remunerated but no where near what Pearce commands.
If my employer decides to bring in a gun from another organisation who they believe could do my job better which happens from time to time to former colleagues and could take my job. I will be given the heave ho with no time out to consider the future etc..
No wonder wonder many professional athletes don't live in the real world, btw I compete quite successfully in amateur touch comps against many of these so called professional athletes, many are more than 10 years younger than me, so I can juggle the athletic demands for my lessor level of comp too plus other aspects of life.Last edited by Parkway_Drive; 11-02-2017, 02:05 PM.Originally posted by boogie

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought pre-season started in stages. Weeks 1 and 2 were more for new guys (if available) and the young ones and the 'old crew' had extra time off and came back later.
It's really sad that after 10 years of playing for the RW&B, there is so little respect and appreciation for Mitch. Sure he has made mistakes off field, but so have many other high profile players which is forgiven and forgotten a few weeks after the mistake.
Most of the so called "legends" of our game would have been booted out of the game long before their career ended if mobile phones and social media where around when they were at their peak. But they are heralded as heroes.
Mitch has played with more commitment on the field that most players in the team during the time he has been with us. But because he doesn't live up to the expectations everyone has placed on him since the age of 17 he has been kicked from pillar to post. Little wonder he has had off-field problems. Whatever he does is not ever good enough.
And all those claiming that Mitch is Robbo's golden child are forgetting that there is a more important person at the club that has backed every decision Robbo has made in relation to Mitch - Nick Politis. Ask yourself why he has accepted every indiscretion and sub-par performance from Mitch, and is even now seemingly reluctant to let him go.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Their is no point going back and forth with fellow supporters as to why we need to like or dislike Mitchell!
I am not a fan any longer due to his continued indiscretions and tarnishing our Club in a bad name..
Also his failures to take our team to the next level has been another major issue.
In my opinion he is no match winner and is not worth the
800k he is currently on.
Ultimately people well above us will make the final decision..

Is he really gone overseas for 3 weeks now? That will mean that its an 8 week break for him, basically 2 months. These poor professional sportspeople most of whom get paid a fortune but spend half their time drinking instead of looking after their bodies and then have a few months holidays....

The players were given the option to take some time off that week admittedly, however I remember Jake Friend and a number of others chose to front up at the optional training that week. After what happened on Australia Day and his suspension, he more than any other player should have been putting in extra. I guess when you have so many apologists lining up to defend you, you can do what you like. Pearce could rape a cheer girl as he left the field and he would have his loyal followers defending him.

You know it makes sense.
