Awesome news to see a Rooster is next in line for the Australian captaincy.

Couldn't go to a better bloke, puts in 100% every time he pulls on that jersey for us.

Unless he is crippled with a knee injury.

Time to get over your tantrum big boy. You sound like a three year old.

Do you know the severity/risk of his knee injury?

I know he missed weeks during the season, was struggling in the semis and is playing busted for Australia now.

But what is the likelihood of re-injury? What's the risk that like you say he will be crippled with a knee injury after the World Cup?

I know what you are getting at but when they say they have to "manage" it I would suggest he is better off having a full offseason to rest it than playing on.

I would have thought that the majority of players in the Aus camp would be carrying injuries and would be better off having an offseason to rest up.

But while they can make good coin and represent their country with pride, not many of them will pull the pin on it. They realise that these opportunities have to be taken while they can.

It is not limited to the Aus players, most NRL players representing all the countries in this World Cup would be better off resting up, but choose to play because they consider it an honour to represent either their country of birth or their ancestry. And some of them are earning a pittance for it.

Play Origin 3 when you are not fit and screw the rest of the season? I think so.

The Cowboys fans are probably thinking the same thing re Thurston and SOO 2 - the bloke was busted before the series started.

                                Yep.
Don't agree at all that him playing origin ruined us , but he does need a break and a full off season.
