Not sure about next year, but if all the forwards we currently have keep developing as they have been then we may be looking good in 2-3 years.

At present we are sitting 13th on the ladder with the 5th worst defence. We may have had a couple of injuries but so has everyone else. So how all of a sudden is this going to be the best pack in 2012? Based on your cap theory that logic must apply to 2011 as well, unless in the off season, despite Anasta's so called pay cut and Myles departure, all those 'stars' are going to get a pay rise based on their sublime performances this year. Nate Myles or Braith Anasta? I know who I would have sent to the Titans.

007 you r probably right about the sun tan on the Coast, however the answer to the abyssmal season is easy - sign the players early and with secure futures they are able to play footy without worrying about finding a new Club. Last year Cowboys had the same issue of leaving a number off contract this year with secure futures much better result.

Players play much better when their future is undecided.

Otherwise complacency sets in.

Very few players are worth 3+ year contracts.

Mike , I disagree with you on this point security brings out the best in any workforce where you are accountable for a result. You may be right about longer than 3 year , but extending contracts on performance is a different matter altogether.My original comment is a valid assessment, which may be one explanation why we have under acheived in a year where we expected so much. As I said in another thread earlier if we were serious about an assault on first place we should have extended all squad members contracts by 12 months to give them the opportunity to prove their worth.
How many other clubs which are under achieving this year have multiple/ key players coming off contract which has disrupted their respective seasons?.

we seriously need to get rid of ryles, he is that bad. he give away thounsands of penaltys and is just plain crap, hope he goes.

and anasta is seriously under-rated, he is a great captain. he sometimes dosnt do enought, but he obvioulsy loves the club and their the people we need at our club..

Judging by the above you know jack about football, Ryles is the only forward who consistently makes yardage (averages 100+ per game), he is solid in defence and is a leader for our young forwards. Sure he gives away a few penalties, but he is also heavily targeted by the imbeciles in pink.

Anasta is seriously over rated, he is average on a good day. He might be a nice guy off the field, but on it he leaves a fair bit to desire.
