I'm not sure why everyone's so happy that Sam's been put back to fullback. Did none of you see the game against the Panthers when he looked nearly as clueless as Braith under the high ball?
Sam is a good player, but under the high ball he's a less than 50% chance of catching it.
Mat Orford will have a field day with Sam at the back. Fact is Jordy is one of the few players at our club capable of catching the high ball on a regular basis and he should be our FB based on that alone if Mini's not available.
Hopefully sanity prevails sometime during the game and Jordy is postioned at FB.
If we need a hooker for a time, rather than Jordy, Benny Jones is the man -he's tailor made for the position with his build. Pez can take his place in the centres and Jordy to FB.

I can't agree about Pez, he's proven himself under the high ball over the last couple of years, but he needs to backup for the first 3 plays as Tanzey has been doing so well.

NC I thought Pez was lost against Penrith also, but I thought it was more to do with the fact that he was out of position in the centres.
I like your idea about Benny as unlike most on this site and the Wall I like the kid and think he has tons of un-taped skill ! Like poor Friend though he cops a pasting about if he has the ability or not but most forget they have barely played 10 games and are 18yrs old

Ben Jones is not a centre, so he's not going to shine whilst he's playing out of position.
He is a half or a dummy half. Simple as that.
The kid has plenty of potential, the coaching staff just need to tap into it and make the most of his talents. Problem is I don't reckon our current coaching staff are capable of that.
Same with Friend, I don't reckon our coaching staff are making the most of what he's capable of. As with Jorbs, he's been told to play a certain way and not venture outside the square that is the dumbarse game plan Fittler has manufactured. We'll never have a creative dummy half until that changes.

He doesn't seem to foolow through behind the fowards as much as Tansey, But I am sure i have seen him link up with his outside men more than Tansey.
Leave my judgement on Fullback till after the game with Manly.

Sam Perrett has been hit and miss under the high ball since he made his first grade debut a few years ago now, whether it's playing for Easts or NZ. I doubt a week will change that.
And you have to expect that Jordan will take time to learn who to follow upfield to take advantage of an offload etc. Remember he's only been involved in around 6 games, and not all of them at FB.

The team has been so disjointed lately that it is hard to see who is best suited in some positions. I do like the way Tansey was hovering around the ruck looking for the offloads (not many forthcoming) whilst a Fullback.
I really do not have the football Knowledge to be coaching a team, (which we do not seem to be at the moment) Just an opinion on the games i have seen to this date.

I rate him, I just think he just needs a bit of time, but, I rated Aubs and he's been O this yr, so I have no idea whether he's p**, or our crap team performance has hindered his ability.

We need to have faith in Perrett, Kenny-Dowall, Sa, Pearce, Friend, Nuuausala, Paea, Shackleton, Symonds, M Aubusson, Jones, Kennedy, Waqa, Cherrington, Ahern, Towers, Cordner, etc...in 5 years or so, if we hold on to these blokes, we WILL have a match-winning team, with the support of our more valuable imports in Myles and maybe Anasta too.
I would rather see us win the comp with players we built from scratch, rather than us winning it with a bunch of purchased showboaters, really. I believe that our kids here have what it takes if the club treats them with at least some dignity and respect, like not signing players in positions that we already have covered.
I'm gonna actually miss Soli...the same way I miss Tupou and Shillington and Cusack...we made them..

jaubs tends to over-pass or pass too hard out of dummy half and it results in disjointedness around the ruck. things seem to flow better with friend out there
