Was at the Wyong game, that Ref was trying to gift the warriors the game at the end, even after we run the ball out at the end of the game, he waited 10 secs and called time off to allow them to pack the scrum, time was up when we run it out from dummy half, Manu was great in attack but gee his defence was found wanting at times, his last tackle saved the game and made up for his previous misreads.
A couple of our forwards lack punch, Santi for one, how Farmer Silly is not in this side is a mystery, the bloke is a machine and can turn a match
Watched the Riff v Dogs game as well, gee even playing at 75% Wyong should lap the PanthersBringer of Rain, Embrace the Hate, Freedom for All

Cant believe Wyong are not playing before our match at Alliance stadium next Saturday night. Instead the GF will be played at Leichhardt oval....... What a waste.
Imagine seeing Wyong play there GF before we play the Cows..... Just imagine.... Hmmm.

I do like Leichhardt oval as a ground though.
If I understand right though the Roos will still be at ANZ stadium on gf day playing against the Qld cup winners for ultimate glory.....should they win next week.

I agree Leichhardt is a great suburban ground but imagine watching Wyong in the GF before the Chooks kick off. Would be an awesome night.

Manu's two tries showed his attacking class. I hope we keep him at the Roosters as there would be plenty of others looking for a good attacking outside back with a great step and change of pace. Defence let him down and he lost confidence this year. Robinson had no choice but to drop him back to regain that with Wyong. He did move up better today, especially around the line. What I like about Manu is how he stands up in the big games, like last years U-20's with another couple of tries.
Nikorima is classy against a lesser defense like St Helens and InTrust Cup. He's definitely a thinking footballer with real balls skills who can pull off sensational plays. Tends to get rushed in first grade and was battered in his first season. Hamstring injuries and head knocks have stopped him progressing. Pity that he didn't really get a chance when we were actually in form and also had Hastings as half. A lot better with Cornish.

just looking through some fox sports articles ive seen about a week ago fox sports have said roosters going to try lock him down long term, not sure if anyone has posted it before. glad theyre doing this
ROOSTERS MOVE ON GUN
"The Roosters have started talks to extend the contract of Joseph Manu long-term.
The centres management will meet with the club this month to finalise a term and nut out the finer details.
With both parties keen to strike a lengthy deal, the Roosters have been working on Manu’s extension for months.
A new deal for the 21-year-old will be timely, with Blake Ferguson only re-signing for a further 12 months."

Hope they can lock him in. And good to know they want him on the team longer term. Both the club and the player have put a lot of time and effort into this and with SKD gonski and Ferguson on short term we could do with someone who knows the club. Our attack with a more seasoned Manu and Tedesco will test any defence. Add on Latrell and Fergo and Tupou's improved form we really have some firepower.

Here's the write up on the Roos win, and a link to the highlights ....
Nikorima Steers Wyong To Grand Final
Matt Buxton (Twitter: @MattBuxton22)
Sun 17th September, 02:45PM
A heart-stopping match at Leichhardt Oval has seen the Wyong Roos qualify for the 2017 Intrust Super Premiership NSW Grand Final.
The Roos got out to an absolute flyer thanks to the brilliance of Jayden Nikorima and Joey Manu, but the Warriors fought back at the death and brutally attacked the Wyong line in the final few minutes to create a tense finish.
Wyong got off to a perfect start thanks to the individual brilliance of Joey Manu, who took the line on, showed the ball back inside but backed his lightning speed to complete a short-side raid and get over the line for the first points of the afternoon.
The Warriors had the majority of field position for the next part of the game, but a simply incredible catch by Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck saved one opportunity, before Nat Butcher held up Ata Hingano in a desperate try-saving tackle when he looked certain to score.
Wyong kept turning the Warriors away, but at the same time their execution was slightly off with kicks not finding the mark and some passes trickling into touch.
Jayden Nikorima threatened to break the game open with a bust up the middle of the field which didn’t lead to points, but managed to go one step better in the final moments of the first half. He received the ball inside his own half, chipped over the top, re-gathered and raced away to score an amazing individual score to increase their lead to 12-0.
The Roos began the second half exactly as they did the first, with Manu capturing his second try once again thanks to the skill and individual brilliance of the rising-star.
At 16-0 the Warriors needed to score next to be any chance of a 2017 Grand Final berth, and the ever-reliable Toafofoa Sipley stepped up to the plate with a powerful barge-over try adjacent to the posts.
While that try was pure strength, the next was pure finesse when Jazz Tevaga weaved through the Wyong defence at short-range, putting two sharp steps on two defenders to score a beautiful looking try to reduce the margin to 16-12.
For the final five minutes of the match, the Warriors relentlessly attacked the Wyong line but the Roos constantly turned them away. After three consecutive sets, the Roos finally received the ball with only seconds on the clock, and kicked the ball out to complete the game.
There was confusion at the end of the game with the Warriors packing a scrum while the Roos celebrated the win, but the referee eventually called full-time to ensure the Roos advance to the grand final next week.
