    They do.
They exist because without them you wouldn't have a game.
But they should be applied evenly without fear or favour....................that don't happen in this day and age.

Do away with game managers, bring back referees.
If we run into another Keith Page or Ben Cummins, we can be critical of an individual who either ain't up to the job, or is bias........
Under the current grey rules/game management agenda, they are untouchable....................fines apply.
Damned if you do or don't.

I should start a thread on the bunker?

I love the game. Love playing it and watching it live but can't sit through it on television anymore whereas year ago I would sit up all night watching it.
Had the pleasure this year of meeting one of the absolute darlings of women's tennis this year in Martina Hingis. Dream come true! Also caught up with Sam Stosur. She is lovely, lovely person with plenty of time for the fans which is very admirable.

            A couple more tweaks............

1/ Make players pack into the scrum according to position.

2/ Put more onus on the ball carrier to hold onto it.
Yes yes and yes to 1.

with 2) they all say that the onus is on the ball carrier and if he loses the ball too bad but in today's game what would happen if 2,3, or more players are yanking at the ball in the tackle and the ball carrier loses it? I'm sure the Storm would be the first to try and see how far they'll get away with it.

Yep. gotta clamp down on tactics that creep into the way tackles are done now.
We need referees with balls, who aren't predjudice with the scoreboard.

But we don't wanna a game where any attacking player who feels a defenders hand on the ball just gives it up?, that goes against everything league was built on.

The refs are in a no win situation. The modern day tactics from coaches to the players is to cheat or deceive on as many plays as possible which refs realistically could nearly give a penalty on every play which would kill the game.
You might say just penalise them until they get the message but coaches will then come up with another way to cheat the play.
Its the coaches that are a blight on the game not the refs.
The whole introduction of the wrestle & the demise of tackling around the legs has cruelled the game in some ways because it's made every play a wrestle contest which players are coached to cheat at so refs penalise for 1 infrigment & then let others go.

Funny that nate myles, with all his experience, said that he was learning a lot of new wrestling tactics at the storm.
                  It just ain't league.
