On a related note, do we think Napa will EVER be a meter eater? He is a fine enforcer, and intimidating defender - of that there is no doubt.

BUT...he is like a giant cruise ship in terms of agility and pace, and i'm skeptical as to whether he will ever be effective as an attacking forward.

'You can't coach speed' as they say.

I'm glad we have both Liu and TKO in the team as IMO they paper over a lot of Napas deficiencies when it comes to the middle forwards.

I mentioned in another thread I thought Napsters leg speed on the weekend was noticeably improved...for him.

I think he's back to playing the same role as last year and he's really thriving. Earlier in the year Robbo had him coming on to replace JWH and Napa and that plan wasn't working so well.

Is in a purple patch for the last month or so. Peaking at the right time of the year with the semis just around the corner.

I would like IL to hit the line without that minuscule side step which he always does and slows him down and easier to stop.

It's the footwork before the line that allows him to punch through.

SST and Taumalolo are probably the best examples of powerful middle third forwards who do most of their damage with their footwork before the line.

If they just ran straight and hard all the time like Martin Lang then they wouldn't be half as effective.

Players are just so big and strong nowadays that you need to hit them whilst they're off balance if you want to consistently dent the defensive line.
