I thought we would probably lose this one which unfortunately played out.

I reckon we've targeted this Storm game for a while to make a statement which contributed to our mixed showing yesterday.

I was confident we might get them too with 2 or 3 experienced players back but am now concerned we lack some ammo with Toups and SST injured.

Toups is a massive loss for us.

I doubt SST will be back. A compound fracture of the finger will probably mean the season. Toops also looked very bad. And if Ferguson is suspended then we'll have to debut a rookie in the backs. Aubo will movie to centre and Manu to one wing but I have no idea who will play the other wing.

Some excuses for yesterday though. Losing SST was the killer.

The use and selection of our Bench rotation was a major contributing factor ( not for the first time) , we can not continue to carry Bench players who are merely used to be a "Benched spectator" by choice or circumstance.

Even counting for injuries we still have the talent it is just how we get the best use in any given situation.

Mate we haven't strung more than 40 good minutes of footy together all year. How many times have you thought "how did we win that one?" or had to pull out the "its better to win ugly" after we somehow scrapped home? You could change maybe 5 single plays last year and this year, and we'd be almost exactly swapped on the ladder.

We are benefiting immensely from what surely must be one of the weakest comps in years. I can't honestly think of another year where it was so clear this far out who was going to take it all out. We've also had, all things considered, a reasonably easy draw up to this point as we still have games against the 2 best teams in the comp to come in the last few weeks before the finals.

We'll be knocked out of the finals whenever we come up against the Storm or Sharks. If things fall our way then we might be looking at another GF loss this year

We needed the game managers to step in and help us like they do with melbourne all the time, but they left us on our pat malone................
