The side named yesterday for NSW is very good and should probably win the series this year. I honestly believe it could have been better with the addition of Cotric however.

I went through player for player and Qld is pretty close to them on paper. I was surprised.

Bernard Sutton got his job because he would be prepared to do what the NRL asked of him. It only makes sense to keep it all in the family. Tony Archer asked Cecchin to retire after we beat the Bronco's in the finals. Archer was furious at full time and it was clear Cecchin had not followed instructions.

On paper it looks close but I think the speed advantage NSW has should get them over the line. The muscle looks even but the NSW side is chancing it’s arm on flair and creativity this time round which means very unpredictable footy that speed capitalizes on.

I am really worried about Addo Carr, I think Cotrik should be there. Also not rapt in De Belin, or Vaughan. I would have Shannon Boyd and Merrin. Going to be huge pressure on the defence of Latrell and Roberts. If Queensland can hold NSW in the forwards they have a much more robust backline. I think it's going to be very close and will come down to Maloney and Cleary, they will need a great kicking game to pressure Queensland. I hope its a great game, and the better team wins

Just gotta win 3 in a row and QLD will fold + quit. Thats the only way to get rid of Origin!

I think that will be a biggie for sure. In recent years we seem to have selected the best defensive side in order to minimise points scored against us. This always means that we are completely farked as soon as QLD get ahead by a couple of tries.

IMO the best form of defence is to attack. Fark focussing on a neutral/negative game. If Ado-Carr, Roberts, Latrell, Tedesco and Cook get lotsa ball, we will NEVER be stuck on our side of the field having to withstand a barrage of repeat sets because they will run us out of the red zone... guaranteed!

Addo-Carr was a cert as you cannot buy speed- too bad those at the Chooks didn't sign him when his manager offered his services - too many backs on the books so Storm signed him instead. All NSW has to do is to match the QLD forwards as NSW has more tries in them.

You said on paper the Chooks have the best attacking team too - need to remember games are not played on paper.

Nepotism at its worst and the league is either turning a blind eye or encouraging it too happen. Cecchin was clearly the leading ref in the game but is obviously on the outer under the Sutton regime.
Badger is being repaid by Madge for his years of faithful service to the bunnies with more important games.
Bill Harrigan is blowing up about what's happening in the refereeing ranks as its become farcical. Harrigan should be put back in charge of the refs as he was the best referee we have had. I don't consider it a coincidence that league as a product never looked better than in the late 80s and 90s when he was the leading ref . He allowed the game to flow and had a feel for the game .

Yes but then came the wrestle, and ever since no one’s been able to police the ruck without turning League into something like Union. Harriman would be no better.

The NRL as a whole is a basket case. Every level of hierarchy is incompetent.

Souffs supporter Badger helped get his team a comp in 2014. The current Sutton ref mafia is embarrassing. The best ref left out in the cold. Have not agreed with Harrigan alot over the years but he is spot on this time.

Why did refs allow the wrestle to begin with? They started penalising players who made legs tackles by making them let go straight away and rewarded 3 man tackles with UFC holds. Look at the farcical way they call held on a player held up and still allow the defence to dump him on the ground.
It all came unstuck when they started calling players by name and telling them what to do instead of just penalising them for indiscretions . I can't think of any other sport where players are warned to stay out of the play or be pinged.

I don’t think they knew what was happening. Took them too long to wise up to it, and by then the whole league was doing it
