Apparently they tried to get Knight to grow a mullet but he wouldnt because he felt it would get in the way of his "Thanks Mr Walker"
Maybe Collins is being shown the door because he refuses to trim those sideburns...

Lindsey Collins hairstyle is more Joe Dirt than Thor, Dirk Diggler or Warwick Capper.

Dad told me that Rooster Cogburn had a pretty mean mullet back in the day.

collins haircut is not a traditional mullet it is in fact a sharpie hair style worn at the time of a unique aussie sub culture called sharpies in the 70s.bon scott moves on stage were a derivative of sharpie dance moves.

The players they have coming through the grades who are 1 to 2 years from NRL standard- Brock Gray/Joseph Ratuuakacereiva / Sitili Tupouniva /Reuben Porter for instance- Signing Brock Gray meant that the Vermin banned Roosters junior teams playing in the combined comp - even though their father was Roosters through and through - coached at the Roosters/Administrator and currently Roosters Development Manager- Brian Gray. Collins will need to show more is all I can say. Sure big wraps on him previously but lost his was as they say as many young players do in transitioning to semi professional playing status and making that next step is always a difficult one- played only 8 NYC games for the Bronco's in 2016 for instance- he could have played either Union/AFL or League and chose League - So the ball is in his court as they say with plenty snapping at his heels to take his place

Sharpies had been around since the 1950's - Skinheads were always looking to fight someone - Sharpies / Punks/Teds and especially New Wave people when they came along- used to be a lot skins hanging around town hall (import record shop there sold a lot of early Punk/Hard core/Oi Band records you could only buy as imports) and especially museum stations were they were looking for those that frequented Oxford street.

you post a pic of english skinheads. sharpies were uniquely aussie. sure there were skinheads here and somewhat linked due to the short lifespan of sharpies. the last skinhead popular era was the early 80s with aussie bands like the allniters and the same time as the mod revival.collins has a sharpie haircut.

I was more comparing when he was warming up on the sideline in a long rob huffing and puffing and looked mean as hell

To settle the sharpie cut... It was all short hair except for the back was thin and long. Sharpies was more of a look thang a gang thing..... I should know I belted a few back in the 70's

Allniters were more Ska Music and may have has some Skinhead followers - i.e Specials and Madness - Skinheads followed bands like Cockney Rejects/Sham 69/4 Skins/Exploited etc - Oi Music- A late 60's movement as I know Steve Jones and Paul Cook from the Sex Pistols were skinheads in their youth. Yeh the Mod Revival (The Jam for Instance) and Teds- I remember purchasing a Teddy Boy Drape coat and a pair of Brothel Creepers from a shop called Skin Deep in Sydney in the late 1970'S - Of Course I was only 5 at the time :-) - still have the drape coat though- Used to hang out at the Sydney Trade Union Club in Surry Hills- Skins and Teds would wait outside ready to beat anyone leaving that club up - Used to hate being coined Punk - Caroline Coon coined that phrase - like Grunge Music no one liked that term either especially Kurt Cobain - seen Nirvana and the Phoenician club in Ultimo in 1992 just after they released Nevermind- played at the Big Day out later on

I know the Allniters were a Ska band and yes they did have mod and skin head followers in Sydney etc. I was in the scene. I knew some band members and i am old mates with the bands manager who brought many bands to Oz besides managing Nick Cave. Skin Deep was run by 2 brothers it was established in the Crystal Palalce building on George and funnily enough sharps played snooker there prior the store being established. Even Paddo had faarkwit sharps. The girls tougher than some of the blokes. Some of those played for Paddo Colts or cross over to United. The other twist to the Collins sharpie haircut and you mentioning the Skin Deep store - a ex staffer for many years was ex Sharks chairman Damian Irvine

Allniters were kind of a ska/pop band. They were great. I remember the Skin Deep store well! Was a fan of the Specials and Selector.

Ha I was there too. Man what a time that was. I saw a few great gigs at the old Phoenician. Saw Jeff Buckley play a great gig there. Also seem to remember seeing Silverchair there when the music video for the track Pure Massacre was being filmed.
