Without knowing the injury situation or the number of interchanges left, I think Smithy made a blue by leaving Anthony Mitchell on the field at the end of the game, particularly after his head knock. When the game is on a knife edge, you need your best No. 9 at dummy half. Inexperience would have played a part in the ball going to Ryles on the last play of normal time. Also, having 2 smaller defenders in the middle made it easier for the vermin to make ground in attack in extra time.

So if you're the better team by lets say 10 points and the ref gifts the other team 12 points then it's you fault? I'm not a massive fan of the conspiracy theories but refs just like players are prone to bad games and affecting results.

This isn't a thread on our season to date, just last night and the criticism is just, there were some woeful calls.

It's a shame they didn't refer Perrett's second try (they referred just about every other) I reckon there was an 8 pointer there with Crock's late elbow.

Most of the game we may have been the better team, but we were not good enough when it really mattered.
If the referees are gifting the opposition points , you have to adapt.

This one was disgraceful to be let off, I've seen softer hits than that be penalised. The penalty count in Souths favour was RIDICULOUS.
