It was made quite clear when buying the memberships this year that it was for 10 matches not 12, and from memory the price was about the same as last year when we had 11 home games. Which equates to an increase to the equivalent of 1 game, which is not over the top when you consider everything else we purchase is constantly rising in price.

Not to mention each membership benefits the club most on here claim to be supporters of.

If you don't want to be a member of the club then don't. But don't belittle those of us who actually want to give back to the club that has provided us all with some bloody good (yes and bad) experiences and memories.
those who are members shouldnt belittle those who arent either its not a one way street

        You tell 'em lol

It seems you may have an opinion on the Chookpen only if you agree with the consensus formed by the majority. Some have said they like memberships. Some have offered another opinion. Why must you claim to have been belittled?

Im a member but what you say makes sense man.

Not everyone chooses to be a member for one reason or another. I do as I get value from it by attending 8-10 games a year but Stephen J will back me up on this. My bronze membership went from 12 games a year for 99 dollars in 2013 to 150 or so for 10 games a year this year and in 2014 was when the big price increase occured.

The argument will be that the preceeding 2-3 years and 2-3 years after they keep the price the same. But i would prefer if memberships went up every year like the CPI rather than a 40-50 increase in one year on the back of a premiership. We have the same number of members as 2013 and that include non ticketed ones and a variety of casual.etc.memberships. Priced the annual 10-12 game ones a bit lower and Im sure a lot more would sign up.

This I agree with. You as a consumer are getting good value. The club needs to become consistent in its marketing and in what it provides. Personally I have zero interest in an event and would not go if it was free and you arranged a chauffeur driven car to pick me up and drive me home. However, providing such event for kids would be a great way to promote the club. But provide me a good discount on something I want (tickets) and I'm in.

While we're on memberships, has anyone noticed the number of rival supporters sitting in areas designated for our members seems to be increasing? They are usually not the quiet types, either. I've seen some reproached by police for smoking in the stadium.

The cheapest is $100.00 and you can pay it at $10.00 per month. You get 4 games and the membership kit and you can go to some functions. That's pretty good value.

You would have to be really struggling if you can't cop $2.50 per week to support your club.

Having said that, I think there should be a membership priced at something like $40.00 that doesn't include any games (or maybe one game).

I hate to say it but Souffs could teach us a thing or two in this area and it's no surprise that they have lots more members (though I query whether they actually have a lot more member income than us). They have memberships at less than $5.00 per month:

Agree. Outside of season tickets, for many footy teams In Europe you pay a small fee to be a member the club just for the privilege of buying a match ticket. And bought through the club, no Ticketek markups.
NRL are so amateur hour for so many things, and shy away from an element of exclusivity. If you had a system like this, you could implement a points system which grants members priority access to Grand Finals and other major games, ahead of all the one-off hangers-on that have zero emotional investment in the game, as one example.

I just remembered actually, being surrounded by a few miserable souffs fans at the Manly Roosters GF! Haha!

There's so many chancers trying to grab a spot that's not there's, in and around the tunnel bays. There is a mobile phone number given out by Membership office that you can text during the game to have security come and deal with any dickheads. At least they had one last season. I utilised it for a couple of vermin without having to leave my seat!

I think someone that won't pay $60 per year (yes, a little more than $1 per week) to support their club deserves to be belittled.

That has been a problem for as long as I can remember. It really messes with your enjoyment of the game. Especially when it happened in the late 80's and early 90's because we were craphouse.

Manly Souths Dogs Dragons fans are the worst for gobbing off then vanishing once we start dominating them. In my experience, anyway.

Any opposition fan sitting in the Roosters area mouthing off an annoying everyone should not be allowed. It massively reduces your enjoyment of the game and one of the reasons you get season tix is to sit with roosters fans.
