        Great news!

        Noted that his defence team used the fact that he had lost his contract at the Roosters as part of their case that no conviction should be recorded ...

                I hope and believe we released Skidsy in the manner we did purely for his benefit.

                    Interesting point. From the SMH;

                    Magistrate Greg Grogin said Kenny-Dowall appeared in court as a member of the community, who happened to have a high profile.

                    Mr Grogin noted Kenny-Dowall had lost his contract with the Roosters as a result of the charges, as well as his registration with the NRL.

                    "The collateral damage is huge," Mr Grogin said.
                    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                    What does that mean? If he receives a new contract would he be re-registered or is he being punished further? Would appreciate if anyone who would know could verify that.

                      Surely he hasn't been deregistered by the NRL given that Proctor and Bromwich didn't even receive a slap on the wrist from the NRL.

                      I'd be staggered if that was the case.

                        More likely the NRL deregistered his Roosters contract - that may make sense.

                          You can't be registered with the NRL unless you have a valid contract with an NRL affiliated club. The Knights have a 3 year deal waiting for him. All he needed was to avoid a criminal conviction. I don't know if he'll sign on before June 30 and play out this year, or start afresh in 2018, but I'm pretty sure he'll be a Knight either way.

                            Maybe his legal team asked for the decision to be brought forward.
