  • Luke Lewis

I've always been a big fan and thought we should have gone all out for him before he joined Cronulla. Is it worth having a punt on him for next year? I HATE THE CAP!!!!!

Yes it is. I wrote weeks ago we should go for him for 1 season. He gets better as he gets older. I love him. So bloody tough. Can play anywhere. Imagine how inspiring he would be for our pack.

I'm a huge fan of Luke Lewis. One of the great pure footballers this century to date.

But I think we're flat out re-signing who we've already got without recruiting someone of his calibre.

I reckon we'll get him. No inside info. Just a hunch. We saw the success of getting LOD in 2013. He's a similar, arguably better signing. He's chasing a one year deal for retirement. Sharks will struggle to afford him after signing dugan to a big deal. If he's going to play one more year he will want to go somewhere he can win another premiership and we'd have to be favourites for next year. I'd be happy to cut fergo to free up the coin. Can't imagine he'd cost an arm and a leg anyway.

Can't imagine that he is, in anyway, a realistic option, but, yeah, would love him to come here.

We made a play for him last year and missed out. Don't see that changing I think he will re-sign with the Sharks.

We are definitely going hard for him. But he strikes me as the type of guy who would take less if it means staying with his team By all reports he wanted to be a 1 club man before being pushed out. What a huge mistake that was for Penrith.
As I said, he would be an inspiration to our young forwards.

He'd be the difference between finishing 1st or 2nd-4th.

What position do you people think he is going to play?
Dont tell me back row because Cordner Aubusson Matterson & SST are our back rowers so we dont need another back rower.
Lock we have SST, Tetevano & Butcher.

Put him back on the wing, like Mullos.

For a guy of his calibre maybe we are overthinking his recruitment ... bite the bullet and let fate take care of the rest.

as much as he'd fit right into our club, i think apart from another good prop weve got enough? is marty kennedy in goal yet?

He'd play prop, like LOD did.

LOD transitioned from a wide running backrower to a Middle forward (lock) before becoming a bench prop.

Wouldnt be surprised if Robbo saw LL in a similar vein.

                            LOD: 185cm; 101kg

                            Lewis: 188cm; 105kg

Two very different styles of players though
LOD was for a better term a thug, hard nosed, uncompromising footy player
Lewis has beautiful hands, great vision and runs awesome lines
