  • Jake the Rake

    That's more like it Nugg.

I've been critical of Jake's negative influence on our attack at times this year.

But he delivered in yesterday's game big time. Sharper, more decisive and shouldered responsibility with our main MC absent. Even kicked pretty well.

There was much less standing and looking around at dummy half wasting time.

Silky skills in Cords first try.

    Well done...maintain the rage Jake.

    Possibly the best ever.

Amazingly even got a try from one of those short balls close to the line. It's usually a dropped ball. Though this time he had skipped across instead of passing short from the ruck.

He was amazing. And was outstanding last week. Basically a complete hookers performance two weeks in a row.

A "2013 Jake Friend" might just be the final piece of the puzzle.

Also he might finally get a gig in Origin due to Smiths sternum injury.

I've been critical as well and he played very well yesterday. Best game I would say I have seen from him. Will be happy to eat my words if he can maintain it.

I will never criticise a player who puts in 100% every week and averages over 50 tackles, most of which are on much bigger men.
Jake is a courageous player who always gives his all.

Ironman protected species will never miss an origin. Hopefully he can't backup after origin 2 and hopefully old Billy gets a run too cause I doubt he would be able to back up after origin these days.

Jake had a great game and I have abstained from being critical because his efforts in defence are there with the best...just the early kicks can be a worry especially when he does it and no one is aware of it. Apart from the one that went dead, they all came off...Great game all around. Hope he can pull some more 40-20s soon.

Jake certainly played more decisively in recent games and yesterday was his best game for a long while. So happy to see a great game from our little champ.

All our frontline spine are now in good form and if the injury gods are kind to us, it augers well for our push for a top 4 spot.

Needed to step up with Mitchell out, and did - big time.

It's also his Achilles Heel the 50 odd tackles burns him out and his performances tend to drop in quality, his service from DH tends to get slower and the 4th tackle kicks start to rear their ugly heads.
Over the last few though he's been fantastic though...Keep up the good work Jake.
