  • Bulldogs Discipline worsens again

After only conceding 2 penalties against us last week they have just conceded a whopping 8 against sharks to lose by a point.

What a remarkable decline in discipline.

they also lost both games so basically whether the bulldogs concede lots of penalties or whether they concede only a few penalties they will still lose its almost like good teams win and bad teams lose the conspiracy theories don't make sense

You should stop worrying so much about conspiracies. Are you referring to my comments? I made no mention of any conspiracy. I was just pointing out how teams become more disciplined when they play Easts and then that discipline goes out the window the following week. Purely an observation. No inference to be drawn. I just like interesting facts. And anomalies.

I don't think there is a general conspiracy otherwise someone in that department would have sang like a canary by now...maybe Luke Phillips would have said so. I'm thinking more like when the referees do their course to become a ref, their training both theory and practical, involve players with red white and blue and therefore they are programmed to look at us closer.

The only inference I would draw, if any, is what a great side the sharks must be to still win against a bulldogs side that was constantly using stifling, slowing, illegal tactics that led to the refs blowing those 8 penalties.

We on the other hand could only just win against them even though the bulldogs played fairly for the entire 80 minutes and almost never used these illegal tactics against us. The refs only had to penalise them once (the other was a mandatory penalty I think).

It goes to show we have a lot of work to do to catch up to the standard of these better sides like the sharks.

Just imagine how badly we would go if we played against a team that actually did use illegal tactics against us?

I'm enjoying your ironic wit P1...very good.

And the underlying points made are so, sadly, true.

There ain't no conspiracies at all.
We all know the game managers have their agendas.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial................................In my humble, non-paranoid opinion, of course.

Haha, as Johnny would say, you're abusing sarcasm p1, but nevertheless your post made me smile.
No matter how simply you explain such things, it seems some here continue to miss the point. Can't put brains in statues.

Just as perplexing is the way teams have improved their discipline against Souths since 2014. During the Rabbitohs' magnificent charge to Premiership glory, they received the greatest surplus of penalties received v penalties conceded in NRL history. Rarely did their massive forwards need to do any hard work to get their team into an attacking position. Poor discipline week after week by their opponents meant that Reynolds could grubber his way to repeated sets and the Burgess brothers could batter and barge their way over the line.

Having won the premiership and been presented with the keys to the city by Clover Moore, other teams have conspired against the Bunnies, robbing them of the dynasty they felt so sure they would create. Now Souths don't get the kilometres of free territory they once enjoyed and their big forwards look tired and ineffective after all the extra work they must do.

                          It's a conspiracy, I tell you.
