At the start of the year I wasn't interested in footy for the first time I can remember. It had a lot to do with how we went last season but also the officials had finally worn me down.

I thought we would be extremely lucky to make the finals.

Things changed drastically when we won the nines. All of a sudden I was looking forward to the season. I thought we would end up 5th or 6th.

Then we had the incredible start to the season. I was thinking we could be top two and would win the thing if we get our act together.

Now I am back to hopefully sneaking into the top eight. The issues with SKD and Latrell are a major concern. So is Fergo's apparent lack of effort. We are really skinny out wide. Then there's our goalkicking. Not to mention how predictable our attack is.

I can't ever remember a season with so many twists and turns. Maybe 2002 rivals it.

More like 2001 judging by our antics on here

      It's called experience.

WOW you are on one giant emotional roller coaster after the Anzac Day game you were saying you thought we could win it. Cant wait to hear your thoughts after the Parra game

I do like the look of the side that was named - though Fergo and Manu in defence are a worry. Maybe the coaster is going up again.

Any more injuries, though, and down we go.

              That's what it's all about.

Never a dull moment being a Chooks fan JT - it there was we'd probably be worried what was going on! I came into this season hoping for an improvement on 2016 but not sure what we'd deliver. Am pretty happy with the results so far - if you would have told me before the season started we'd be 6 and 3 I would have taken it and be thankful.

I'm realistic enough to doubt that we'll be in the big dance this year, but am hoping we can play finals footy and give a good account of ourselves.

Really disappointed in SKD and his dumbarse actions - on and off the field. You'd think there'd be some growth in his maturity over the past 10 years but it doesn't seem like it. He's still the same rocks and diamonds we first witnessed in 2007. As for Latrell, he's a 19 year old kid whose been praised so often he thinks it's a given and doesn't react well when criticised and I suspect has had a dummy spit or two. Hopefully he'll learn that it's a team game, and not just about him, and he will play where it best suits the team.

No doubt many more ups and downs before the end of seasons - not to mention the usual melt downs on this forum

I was thinking the other day that, nine rounds in, and we're still no closer to knowing what this team's capabilities are.

Could still be fringe top 8. Top 4. Potential title challengers.

I'm honestly no closer to figuring our where we stand in the grand scheme of things.

Atm I feel like our dumb outside backs are holding us back big time. Though they have the potential to be a strength.

I have a terrible feeling that the Worriers game will come back to haunt us. Not to mention Manly.

need to find some rhythm to our attack shortly, only scored 20pts once in the last 5 games and that was against the Knights.

still think our lack of creativity from FB and the backrow is going to limit how far this team can go this year.

Although we have been going well enough it is pretty difficult to realistically look at our team and say they are the going to win the comp. They just don't seem that formidable if I'm being honest.

Our 2-5 must be amongst the bottom 3 in the comp.
We have an unreliable goal kicker.
Our forwards aren't agro. We need mongrel.
                          Halves are good.
I don't think it's a strong comp. I think we will finish the regular season in 6th position.

Latrell if firing will make a massive difference to our attack. He's not so easy to shut down.

During that winning run they weren't close to potential. If they got to their potential they could win the comp. But that's a big "if".
