Latrell and manu will be the long term centres. We now have a fullback and long term halves. I'd keep tupou for a wing and play a reasonable cheapie on the other side. Shed money for a prop. I would definitely not be surprised to see Graham in a chooks jersey next year.

I think we really need to address our PROP issues.
JWH is a champion, but I reckon his 'strapped' knee is stuffed and may never fully recover. He seems to have lost weight to take some load off it.
NAPA is great a defensive prop, but very slow
LIU is a slug at the moment with negative aggro
We don't seem to have anyone coming through, (I'm not sure how good ex Bronco-U20 Collins is).
And of course we have a heap of back rowers and utilities.
I know you guys know all of this, but it's got me worried, AND WILL BE TESTED again on Anzac day (It failed against Manly and against the Broncos). The team did super well to win the other 4 games.
GO CHOOKIES
BTW......I've got the brick-layers on stand-by for the CANBERRA game

A talent...he must be kept too.
What if we get injuries to 1,6,7,3,4,2,5?
He could cover any one of those positions.
No more "Maloney" errors please.

Manu must stay!
Latrell...magic man!
Latrell must stay...coach must tell him he's wanted and is a big part of our future...
...and that most young players who are learning to play NRL at top standard sometimes need a break to re-energise/re-assess their tackling style/reading of play style/match tactics..

Remember for everyone we release you have to replace it within the top 25.
So with Evans already gone I'd release Guerra, Fergo and as much as I hate it SKD. So that's four players you have to replace within the 25, maybe 1 or 2 would come from Wyong or the U20's but we're probably going to recruit a couple of fringe players for depth. Gordon will most likely be gone too with Teddy replacing him.
Our backline next year could be
1. Teddy
2. Tupou
3. Latrell
4. Manu
5. ????
I'd honestly be up for giving Watson a spot in the centres, and push Manu to the wing. Because if he's not playing FG, he'll leave.

That's easily the million bucks a season that we need, without hacking into our core roster. It leaves us with:
- Matterson as our #1 bench utility or in the centres to replace Latrell/Manu (not quite a Watson in terms of running skills but double the size and better than Nikorima by a mile)
- Easily the best backline in the game WHOEVER we choose to offload! You could even see JTS on the wing and be happy!
- A red hot halves pairing
- No shortage of high quality forward (Napa, Friend, JWH, Cords, Maubs, SST, Liu, Tetevano, Smith, (Matto), Carter... Collins seems to be backed too?
- We still keep O'sullivan, Garvey and a heap of other up and coming players.
My preference though...
1. Teddy
2. Toops (on current form)
3. Latrell
4. Fergo
5. SKD
6. Keary
7. Pearce
8. JWH
9. Friend
10. Napa
11. Cords
12. Maubs
13. SST
14. Matterson
15. Liu
16. Tetevano
17. Smith
Big, versitile bench and few weaknesses in that roster providing players find form/motivation. A good coach can win at least one premiership with that roster.
I think Evans, Guerra, SKD and Fergo cover it. Then there is Nikorima but I imagine we will have to pay half of the reported 400K for his final yr.Embrace the Hate! JC

I think Gordon would still be good on the wing and we do need a goal kicker, he wouldn't be on much coin for 2018 so would be a good keep unless he gets bigger $ thrown at him from the Tigers.
Of the players not signed Tupou is a must.

Players who i think will move on.
Blake Ferguson - 26 Years old, has a young family and has been on a discounted contract with us for the last 2 seasons. I imagine he wants to recoup some of the lost dollars from his previous sacking. Newcastle, West Tigers have money and he is a strike centre. If he wanted 500k or above, i just think he isnt worth the money. We're better off, being patient with Joseph Manu.
Aiden Guerra - We chose to take this poison pill when we signed him end of 2014 for a 3 year deal. To be fair he made his Origin, Australian Debut post our Grand Final success but for the amount of money spent, i dont think he has given us the right output and in fact has looked a shell of his former self. He is 28-29 this year, again looking to cash out, possibly security of a 4 year deal. I can't see keeping him. Plus we have similar players in his position.
SKD - He has had a great career at the Roosters. His carriers from our own end are always tough but unfortunately there is a mistake per game from SKD. Positive for him is he eligible for the loyalty discount in the NRL salary cap which i believe can be split between multiple players. He signed his biggest contract off the 2010 season, he re-upped with another extension. I just cant see him moving on, i can see him taking a discount to stay at the only club he has even known. If the Salary cap is 9m / between 30 players thats 300k for SKD. Is he worth that? maybe not. He has strong ties in the area and i can see staying loyal.
Kane Evans - 25 Years old now and its hard to believe that. He has signed with the Eels for 3 years, i imagine their offer was too god to refuse so fair enough.
Jayden Nikorima - I cant recall if it was 3 or 2 year deal, but he hasnt been seen since last year, i can imagine him being moved to accommodate James Tedesco.
Players we need.
We need another Front Rower to go alongside JWH and Dylan Napa, i still feel we're short on another prop off the bench, i would love to see us have a play at Ben Matulino, but i imagine our Cap will stretched, hence the reason we get these mininum wage players like Tetevano and Paul Carter.
Hopefully there is more clarity around the Salary Cap in the next few months, the players deserve 26% or even more for what they're asking. The NRL not providing transparency around their revenue streams is poor form and a way to hide how much the League is making.
