I thought Cleary might be able to turn them around, but surely the loss of three of the big four after he came to the club is a huge rebuff to him. How can he recover? How can the other players have confidence in Cleary knowing that their best players don't? If Wayne Bennett had been the bloke who took over from JT, would the players have left?

So you'd go for souths over Manly? That can't be right. I don't mind manly because they had a lot of similarity with us, which is why they were the silver tails...but that was when silver was at a good price..Now they're cheap.

I Agree, great money men, but "This Club" too has made retention mistakes in the past - only need to look at last year to see how devastating poor retention is to Clubs morale and cohesion, it appears to me that we have learnt nothing from that lesson.

Clubs are built on stability, in the front office as well as on the field, we NEED one mongrel Prop, we get one fullback at the possible expense of a handful of regulars - Rep players at that are being mentioned; Players who have won Premierships and Minor Premierships in the RWB are rewarded like , how?

No wonder other Clubs link us with every free player on offer , we show NO loyalty to our own grown and developed.

Watched Ron Coote talk last night on FOX, about how Jack Gibson built a successful ROOSTERS team around camaraderie and players wanting to play for each other each week, maybe we can learn from the past instead of buying the services of mercenaries who sell allegiance to the highest bidder without honour, show faith in our own and only tweak our existing weaknesses. In reality we have assembled a reasonable strong and capable squad why decimate it.

Experienced Club players are needed to help develop the wealth of talent coming through slowly - Latrell is an example of how demanding the transition is.

My tip is that he doesn't handle the pressure and never plays rep football. Never wins a comp. What's he worth then? 800k? Please.
I'd rather Ed Sheeran over Woods any day. The pom has mongrel in him.

I feel for the Tigpie supporters. The club has reaped what it sowed with its incompetent management.

You can't expect the 4 to show any loyalty to Cleary, he's been in the job a week and most likely 3 of the 4 were out the door before he stepped in it. It would have been different if he'd had the preseason with them.

Cleary will improve them a lot in the next few years, espec as he now has money to invest in his own style of player. And the Vermin TigPie will be off their books in 18.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

None of the regulars have been moved on yet.
We had cap space left this year, didn't buy anyone?
We should not have to let go the regulars just because we bought Tedesco.

In Jack's day the players didn't get paid very much [compared to today]...and the whole game/system was different.

Our Club has the right to contract the best players, whether 'own grown' or imports....SBW for example.
How many Easts juniors in our current squad? I suggest not many.

Our Club...Minor Premiers 2013, 2014, 2015...Premiers 2013...don't make many retention mistakes, some but not many.

I dont think its all doom & gloom for the Tigers.
Those 4 never got them to any finals series & now they have the chance to get players like Widdop, Dugan SKD, Fergusson, Beau Scott, Matalino, maybe Reynolds & J Graham.
Cleary will hopefully slowly build a competeive team.
