Wishing Kane all the best for the future. A true gent and proudly one of the few humble and unpretentious playing the game. He will fit in nicely at Parra especially if his mate Peatsy returns.

Was never one of TRobbo's favs but well liked and respected by others including Uncle Nick.

No big loss. Spud Jnr. has been playing like mashed potato lately.

He is responsible for the best hit ever on Gordon Tallis. It was a wet Saturday afternoon at the SFS. Roosters v Saints. Jimmy absolutely smashed him.
Unfortunately this was Jimmy's career highlight and the pinnacle of his football playing days.
I see Jimmy around quite often as he lives near me. I often talk to him about this taco. He loves it. I see Jimmy around quite often as he lives near me. I often talk to him about this tackle. He loves it.

                True gent indeed.
But not one our top forwards...to play the style we need to play in future?

                Can't keep everyone.
Best wishes to him for the future.

I wish Kane all the best. If only hed been as powerful and dynamic in the NRL as he was in the lower grades. Just hasn't managed to take that next step when facing men rather than boys.

I've always wondered, was Smith a local junior, or did he come to Easts from a different club. Do you know?

Dont know how to take Jimmy Smith, when he was at 2sm he would gloat about his love for Souths, then takes over from Labi at the Roosters and his love for the Roosters is back, he definatly knows who is paying the bills.

just back on kane, i wonder if this apparent signing with parra took place 2 weeks ago, and is that the reason why he didnt play , instead teta got the go. 2 weeks today, so maybe a press release today or tomorrow.

Clubs are very wary of this " cooling off period" after the deals are down, there are so many back flips player managers make them look like fools, i would say as soon as the guy starts telling his team mates he is going, it is as good as done

Smith played schoolboy footy at St Gregory's and was then graded at Easts during the Murray/Gibson era.

Gibson labeled him as "deceptively slow".

                              LOL

He has always maintained that he is a Souffs fan but has loyalty to Easts from playing and then as a ground announcer and MC at post game functions.

Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

                                Good luck to him.

                                Seems like a nice lad.

I don't personally think he'll make it as a good prop in first grade. Doesn't seem to have the head for it, nor the body. Height certainly isn't the most important attribute in the front row and IMO is actually a detriment .
Most important attributes are courage + body weight, which equals line bending ability.

Look no further than the likes of Matt Scott, Paul Gallen, Sam Moa, Sam Thaiday or Josh Mcguire as key examples of this

If Evans can get his lateral movement and offloading improved, i can however see him as a decent backrower.
