  • Long drive home, Toops + SKD

Long drive home to the Blue Mountains ( **** i miss living at Cloey) after seeing the team serve up that crap. I think their forward pack is very average but they owned us tonight.
They may have some mistakes in them but gee Toops and SKD are at least willing to dig in and have a crack, especially working off our line. Yes they do make errors, but the effort is there. A lot of the other players, especially the pigs, could take a leaf out of their book. Would love to see Fergo and Mitchell help out with the hard yards a bit more, they can both be extremely lazy.

Could be worse like 1 win & 4 losses or 5 losses like last year.

Yeah i know. I don't mind getting beaten, I can't cop complete lack of effort from some though.
I agree though , 4/5 heading forward is good, lets hope the effort returns next week

Agree Easts75 for the long distance travelling supporters there is a long trip home to reflect on a loss like tonight. I am with you on your assessment of SKD and Topou as a pair they do a lot of tough carries at the beginning of get out sets. If they get a quick play the ball we are well on our way.

Being at the game you notice even more how hard they work to get back and do the thankless carries. Very impressed with how they both, especially Toops this year apply themselves. It solely comes down to attitude.

I am good with the start for this year won 4 out of 5 and still yet to play at the top of our game for both halves. Agree with your assessment Mickie a tough physical game. In the end it was that the best centre out there tonight when the moments came outplayed our right hand defence.

Lattrell and Fergo were rubbish in that regard, Toops and SKD had a decent crack at it, Jake Friend needs to provide better service, at times tonight he was pedestrian

Can't win every game. But you are right. Fergo and Mitchell don't do enough hard yards.

Fergo and Mitchell in the centres will be our undoing this season. Neither is willing to get involved unless the track has already been laid out for them by everyone else.

Say what you will about SKD but whenever we are bunkered down in our own end he is forever putting his hand up to go for a run headlong into the opposition fighting to get us out of trouble. Fergo and Mitchell might as well not be on the field until we get inside the opposition's 40

Spot on Danish. They were both non-entities last night. We seemed hell-bent on going through the middle and 'earning the right' to play some footy. But Mitchell with early ball and one-on-one with his opposite is a handful for any opponent from anywhere on the field. We didn't go there and I was left with the distinct impression that he may not be 100% at the moment. Meanwhile, Fergo was just feeling his way back which is not a luxury that can be afforded in first grade.

Last week an independent journalist asked Robbo if Mitchell should be playing Origin, now, apparently he's rubbish. Wow. From where I was sitting he looked dangerous every time he carried the ball last night.
                            Fergo was alright.
Both of them made a couple of errors but, I'm sure, with such warm support from Roosters fans on this forum, they'll bounce back.

I thought cordner was surprisingly quiet tonight. It's like the boys just expected to roll over manly. Manly are one side in the comp that won't roll over no matter how they're travelling.
