As for braith...Im tired of him being the target, Is he playing average? yes, but so is everyone else.
Players falling off tackles to allow easy tries isnt his fault.
I didnt see any complaining last year when he was helping us win game, but now we lose and all the heat is on him, This is a TEAM sport.
Personally im not happy he signed for 2 more years, But that doesnt mean i blame him for everything, that is just childish to blame 1 man for a team effort.

What about last week when knights litrally ran around 5 of our players to score the softest try in history... Was that his fault?
or When our guys are walking around looking depressed and as if they couldnt care less...is that his fault?
He might have started "The Mess" at the start of this game....But he didnt start "The Mess" of this season. There is more then 1 man to blame.
People are just using him as a scapegoat instead of blaming the real problem, THE TEAM (Excluding Jack Friend)Last edited by IIRoosterManII; 07-04-2011, 09:00 PM.

Well without Toddy we would have scored zero tonight, and our defensive pattern is so unscripted, the opposition were able find gaps allover the park, do'nt blame Carney for his defensive lapse he was left defending out wide like a shag on a rock. Hargreaves just keeps getting better along with Guerra, Friend, Arona and of course lets not forget a cameo appearance from Mosoe. Perret and Leilua were good out wide, but the Canberra forwards were too strong and their backs too fast. Im beginning to hate the greatest game of all. Oh I almost forgot, right at the end of the game a Raider dropped the ball Friend threw himself on the ground picking it up and about to pass to J.W.H.. Leyroyd Lahrs spots it and lines J.W.H up for a surprise hit but copped an elbow to his arm and they said a season ending injury

Give me Mitch Pearce and Anasta in the halves. They won't be able to create jack shit but they can put up miracle bombs all game and hope that it comes off. At least they won't leak points to the opposition like the drunk can.
Carney and Anasta - biggest salary cap thieves this year.

I'm over it. There is a group of gutless wonders (not all) out there who are not fit to wear this jersey - or any jersey for that matter. The white feather needs to arrive by letter for some of them. Part of me just wanted everyone to leave 20 minutes before full time. A very small part but a part of me nonetheless. I was shattered when I heard our fans booing the team but I could understand it.
A few of my thoughts:
Our defence is absolutely woeful. There are very few players willing to play tough, and our line seems to be a ragged mess. Our defence is by far the softest it has ever being, and we continue to give away easy metres. Said it before and I'll say it again - we cannot give away 40,50 or even 60 metres per set for the entire game and expect us to win. Blah blah blah the refs 10 is crap blah blah blah they were all offside blah blah blah. I'm sick of hearing the same old excuses. You watch a game and watch our line stop before meeting a player, letting them run a few extra metres, and finally bursting through the line carrying our shirt grabbers with them. Easy ten for them, long night for us.
Why the **** are we still running sideways? JWH and Masoe seem to be the only ones who can run dead straight looking for holes, and aiming to dish out some punishment with the ball. Masoe is knackered after 5 and JWH can only do so much. Let's list some great forwards:
Civinoceva, Webcke, Lazarus, Carroll, Harragon, Kennedy, Sironen etc
Did they ever run sidewards first like a bunch of fairies? No. They ran straight at pace and hit holes. They played tough. If something has been working for the last 100 years there is no reason why it can't work now. Even our backs are doing the same. Running scared or trying too much. Run one or two off the ruck and time your run to hit a hole. Do that all game and you'll win.
Why is Friend playing lock? Maybe I don't understand football, but to me he just doesn't have the size to play lock, and gets dominated every tackle with few players needed to do so. Are we trying to tighten up our ruck area? Because that shouldn't be his job. I understand doing whatever it takes for the team, but surely our forwards should be doing that? I don't understand???
I'm really happy to see Carney trying things tonight. Especially the long passes. Some of those were magical. He hasn't done that this year and it looks like he is slowly regaining some form. There was some poor stuff but I think once his form comes back. As far as I'm concerned, as long as he keeps himself out of trouble, then he is a Roosters player for as long as he wants to be here.
Jake Friend is a legend. I've been hard on him in the past and firmly believed that he should never have come back to the club after his off-field stuff. But he has turned himself around. He's kept himself out of trouble and he puts in on the field. What more could we want?
We have too many easy players. What I mean by that is that we have a lot of players that don't seem to show any urgency in their play. It's always just a bit la di da, skip through the prairie, get to the ball/player/take a hit up etc when I fell like it. Ever noticed something with great players? The put in. Win lose or draw. I'd kill for a Luke Phillips right now. Not the best player in the world and would never make any rep sides. Ever. But at least he kept trying and will put his body on the line. That's inspirational.
There doesn't seem to be any communication out there. Or the players just aren't listening. No one seems to know who is fielding a kick. The defensive line isn't cohesive, or gaps don't get filled - after a tackle has just been made! Players are getting in the way of each other. At one stage I saw Ryles throw a pass as though he was a playmaker when we were on their line in the second half. This was after it had gone through everyone's hands. Someone take the hit-up and settle the team down! Which brings me to...
Too many heroes. I mean really? Everyone wants to do it themselves. Why not start acting like a team and work together? Forget this hero shit. The good teams work together. There is one main organiser on the field, and the rest just support. Saints it's Soward. Manly it's Foran. Melbourne it's Cronk. Guys like Hornby and Boyd feed off Soward. Cherry-Evans and Lyon feed off Foran. Slater and Smith feed off Cronk. **** this four playmaker shit we have going on off and pick one guy. We did it last year with Carney, and Pearce and Anasta had great seasons from that...
