  • Exciting New Innovation

Rugby League can be boring at times today.

    A new innovation should be;

A player can pat/throw the ball forward as long as he regains control of it before it hits the ground.

Player can run along with ball held like a catapult behind him, then as a defender approaches...player lobs the ball over himself and the opposing player, then catches it and continues running.
Near the try line.... same thing...player lobs ball into the in-goal, regathers in the air, and scores.

    One-handed pats/throws...two-handed pats/throws...all good.

    It's been thought of before.

You use your foot and it's called a chip kick.

With a chip kick the ball can hit the ground and then be regathered.
With a throw it could be done in a tackle, or when an opposition player is committed to a tackle.

Pat from a bomb, ball goes forward, player regathers and scores.

And a defender can legitimitely put a shot on you before you regather.

Also why not have one quarterback style pass a set?

Why not make it AFL rules?

Lol Bongdi, get off the cones, its Rugby League ffs not gaelic footy lol.

I think the history book talks of m Dally Mressenger doing this and they outlawed it because he'd do the equivalent of a chip kick with his hands

I'd like to see heading the ball like soccer or as they call it, a falcon. Imagine Friend from dummy half throws it at Jarryd and he heads the ball over the defense and someone like Keary runs through to regather and score under the post.

If he catches it on the full it is a 5 point try.

Yed Goodwin used to pat the ball over their heads.. They changed the rules back then

I can remember Fairfax pretending to flick pass one day and curling the ball around himself and catching it before passing to Mullins who scored, anybody else remember that.

Anyone else? It was a brilliant try. I think it was against Cronulla at the SCG or the SSG.

No quarterback passes, no shots on players...just a player being able to tap/throw forward and regather.

It'd be a more exciting game.
