  • Hayne Reached Out To Roosters in Off Season

Reported on NRL Tonight that Hayne reached out to us in the off season. Apparently wanted to get back to Sydney. We said no as we have Gordon, Mitchell, Watson.

Thank God we said no. He can be brilliant but goes missing too often for mine.

I gotta say I'm sick of the media beat up about Hayne. As it is I have a real hatred for the media. Unaccountable morons who now run rugby league.

An example of where the NRL is now at is Buzz saying on Nrl360 that if a story is on the front page of the newspaper then it must be investigated by the NRL . (Cartwright story). So in effect, Buzz thinks that the editor of the Telegraph decides what must be investigated. Todd Greenberg needs to get some balls and stand up to the media.

I'm sure we all have our opinions on Cartwright. Mine is its private and non criminal and is a regular occurrence. Abortion is one of the most touchiest subjects there is. Politicians get the question every time they reach office.
Where did this player bring the game into disrepute? What have Panthers done wrong? This is nobody's business but the player and his gf.

    Damn I hate the media

Sadly for him Hayne is yesterday's news. The so called "world's greatest rugby player" isn't all that. Yeah he is great on his day but I'm happy with the guys the club has gone with for the moment.

He is still riding the wave from his good third of a season that was 8 years ago. Done SFA since.

i think that hayne is a talent but he's not the kind of player who can lead a team to greatness like sonny bill williams did

somebody in another thread noted that they think trent robinson isn't the type of bloke to chase a superstar he prefers the collective unit and i agree with that i think the club presently would only chase somebody with sonny bill williams type of attributes away from the footy field with the work ethic and dedication you saw how hayne was acting with the idiots in the video he made last year not that he was behaving badly or anything but he's still pretty juvenile by the sounds of it

Hayne isn't a team player hence why no premierships. He would not even train with the team when he was at Parra.

Does more damage to your team off the field than he does to the opposition on the field.

Big fish in a failing Parra I reckon.

Radradra was similar to him in terms of form because they are so bloody unstructured that you can do whatever the hell you like!! Duges, Fergo, Carney...etc did the same at the raiders. Benji Marshall playing for the Tigpies in his flashy no look pass days comes to mibd too. A lot of deadbeat teams have no coaching and play ad-lib, individualistic footy where you just create your own stuff the whole time.

In such structures, a relatively talented outside back can just grab the ball and do his own risky, ad-hoc shyte and look like a big hero because nobody else has anything to offer and the opposition lets them through occasionally, having given up trying to work out their plan (because there is no plan). The coach's instructions would literally be 'I have NFI so just do whatever you want, gimme some razzle dazzle guys!!!'

Not saying Hayne's rubbish or anything, but I think that there's a massive gap between being a prodigious talent in a rubbish team and being an integral part of a well lubed machine.

Modern day Olsen Filipana. Put a blue jersey on him and he played 3 great games per season

Not training with the team is laughable and close to unthinkable. If that is true then I say we dodged a bullet big time. I find his over the top displays of his faith to be obnoxious and annoying as well. I cant be the only one.

If true and not just a media/manager "beef up " we dodged a bullet - Jaynes arrogance is poison to any team

Don't know about the Titans but it was a well known fact that whilst he was at the Eels this was true at times.

Now you have to admire what he did in a short amount of time to crack it into the NFL... There are kids who play all of their lives, including in Texas that cannot crack a gig in there, but Hayne did in a short amount of time and was proven to be one of the fittest athletes they had that year.

I really think his excuse to quit was a poor one, as who ever takes him on now has to also realise that he is still in contact with the 49ers and they too have not closed the book on him. If he had played some where else in the NRL besides the Eels then I believe we would have got a lot more out of him.
