Yet another article on Smith losing the players. While I have no idea how much of anything is fact or bullshit, I do know we haven't looked like we have had any sort of gameplan since last year.

    Paul Kent, stopped reading there.

I will highlight a bit of that article countofmontechristo.....

While much has been said why Gould sacked Elliott with 10 rounds to go, at its heart is a two-hour talk on football 12 days ago where Gould didn't understand a thing Elliott said.

To his credit, Gould wondered whether he was the problem. He questioned whether the game had gone past him, because Elliott looked quite clearly chuffed, and so later Gould asked one of the leading players to explain the team's basic strategy. "We have no f...... idea," the player said, and Elliott was gone.

The Roosters, struggling and now with two head coaches on staff, might have just doubled their problems, not halved them.

Gould was the one who reccomended Elliot to the Roosters. Kent's full of it. I love how he knows exactly what was said in the boardroom.

I thought the "Elliott to roosters" comments throughout the week were just a gee up by the trolls

I had the pleasure of spending time with Wayne Collins in January and the Panthers strategy is very basic and not that difficult to understand. They play very simple footy coming out of their own end, dummy half runners, straight runners trying to get in behind the A defenders and get the team going forward. Once in an attacking position, they then go to their playmakers and look to hit big men on the edges, or sweep the ball out the back to the looping fullback runner. As I said very basic and not that hard to understand. I would suggest that Gould maybe should have sacked the player involved as well if he didn't understand it.

Yes well now I have no idea either.

The Roosters are directionless. Smith's philosophy has always been to play differently each week, avoiding a definitive style so it can't be broken down by opponents. In theory, it makes sound sense.

Yet for the good it does his teams, it injures them even more. When the bullets are flying and the pressure breaks their composure, it is human nature to go back to what you know. With a game plan changing every week, purpose built for the team they are to play rather than to fit their own character, the Roosters lack identity. They are left with nowhere to go, because they don't know what they are.

Play differently each week, avoiding a definitive style?

              Hmmm...is that a good idea?

Are all the players in the team able to grasp that concept like a computer?

Interesting that Paul Kent apparently has an intimate knowledge and understanding of the mental state of each and every member of the club, as well as the coaching tactics for each game. I can only assume to gather such intelligence about our club, he has contacted each of the players and club officials, and in response they have each said something like, "Oh you're from the Telegraph, I'd better tell you everything I know".

I would guess that a lot of this stuff comes from his wishes and imagination. It is easy to kick someone when they are down, and although Kent does that in this article in a sneakily "detached" and impartial way, that is all he is doing.

I don't know what is behind the dysfunction at our club, but I am sure that Paul C.unt knows even less. He is full of shit. And I know he and his cronies read this forum, so Paul, go home and root your mother again you tool.

Will also be entertaining to see how the panthers go, now that the big fat alco know it all is running the joint. He hasn't quite put his balls on the line by actually taking the coaching job, that would require a bit of courage.

And he had the best team on paper for several years at Easts, never made one GF. Obviously that's our fault according to him.

7-1 penalties against us in the first half against Cronulla at Cronulla earlier this year.....the best coach in the world would be lucky not to lose the game.

Refereeing in the 2010 Grand Final, as another example.

'Biased refereeing' against us has been mentioned here many times during the season.

Our injury toll of topline players this year has been horrendous.

Can't win without the cattle, no matter the coach

We've had rookies playing against Origin and Test players for much of the season.

Todd is kicking for goal again, and seems to be fit now...hope he stays, and doesn't want out as written in the article.

. Superleague war...he ARL loyal, not actually liked much by those on the other side who eventually prevailed.

. He built the team that won the 2002 Grand Final...coached by 'Superleague' Stuart.

. He has media commitments...and less pressure and a better life not being a fulltime coach.
                        I'd do the same thing.

Typical Telecrap rubbish. If it was the media darlings Bennett, Cartwright or Sheens we'd get nothing of this. It would be team ripped apart by injuries and State of Origin duties etc etc. The fact is that rags favourite subjects are Roosters bashing and Brian Smith bashing. Now Smith is one of us they are rubbing their hands together at the potential stories. What's this crap about them playing with no enthusiasm? Yes we have been disorganised and poor in attack all year but I honestly believe up until that game at Tinkle Town the team HAS played with enthusiasm and spirit but shocking execution. They have one very poor game where the enthusiasm is seriously lacking and suddenly according to these idiots they've been playing like that all year!!!! And Todd Carney wants out? Aren't these the same fools who demanded the club suspend him for the whole year after his DUI etc? Have the noticed that the Titans and Tigers have been playing sideways attack all year too? I need to calm down and take a valium or something!!!!!!! BTW are there many female supporters on this forum? Or am I one of only a few?

I love the way Souths are excused this year because they've had injuries. We've had a far worse injury list and no mention of that.

Also the coach who took his team to second on the ladder last season is now no longer able to have a conversation about footy.

The agenda the Daily telegraph have against Smith is ridiculous. Also i feel if the dressing room has been lost it's time the dressing room cahnged. Chopping the coach down every time we have a rough patch won't solve anything.
