  • A great stat!

Looking through each teams contracted 25 players, the Roosters have 16 that have only played for our club.
We rank 2nd only to Melbourne who have 17.
When you consider that we have Chris Smith 1 game for Penrith and total 2 games, Taukeiaho 1 game for Warriors and 48 total and JWH played 6 games for Manly with 149 in total it's looking good!
    No more transit lounge crap!

Another stat that's interesting is that we are one of 5 clubs that have every player in the top 25 with first grade experience. The others being Saints, NZ, Parra and Brisbane.

I tell non Rooster fans that complain about the Roosters this all the time.
Have a look at the Dogs, most of their team is made up of players who were established first graders at other clubs the Sharks aren't far behind them.

Having lived through some tragic times, it's great to see the club leading in a lot of areas. Robo has been massive. It's impossible to explain just how influential he has been to the average fan. If you are lucky enough to be closer to the team than most, you get a better idea.

Just one more reason to be a proud Rooster. That IS a great stat P Money and thanks for bringing it up!

The other stat that does us proud is how many former Roosters go on to make it in first grade at other clubs. We must be doing something right in the coaching and development area. Alas, we can't keep 'em all but they usually leave as better players than they were when they arrived. Other clubs see them as cherry-ripe for first grade once they've had a football education at Easts. Kudos to those in charge.

They would probably easily turn it around by saying that the players we do buy are the reasons we do so well with, SBW,Maloney ,JWH,Jennings, carney,Mullins,Fitzgibbon,Morley,Fit tler, wing, being key reasons for our grand final and minor premiership success.

That is certainly a great stat, for my money loyalty is a understated commodity.

Home grown or home developed talent is the ultimate acknowledgement that we are doing something right, especially with the salary cap playing such a huge part in player migration.

not only home development , but home loyality, the players want to hang around and sticking by the club. Being involved from nyc or nrl debut for 10 years plus. Pearce, Aubo, Skidsy, Jake, Boyd played nyc from 2009..evans and Napa nyc since 2011, Guerra JWH since 2010, A bit of club history..

Robbo has been so big for the club. It's crazy that some wanted his head last year. Just proves that it's a simple game followed by some simple people!
