  • vale Ron Hanson #514

Ron passed away last week. He played fullback for the Roosters in the early 1960's.
He was a mate of my fathers. I believe he was the first Roosters fullback to score three tries in a game.

Trent Robinson sent a message to Rons wife Fran that was read out at the ceremony. Very classy.

Just thought I would share. Cheers

And Trust in Trent indeed. I really hope he's our coach for 20 years.

He embodies and represents everything great about our club.

I would never have known that if you hadn't of posted it.

Pauline Hanson is in her 60s. This guy would need to be over 100 to be her grandfather. He probably wasn't even old enough to be her father if he played in the 60s. Somebody's just making stuff up.

                  RIP Ron Hanson.
A little before my time so have no memory of him playing for Easts, but any ex Tricolour/Rooster gets my utmost respect.
I think he was a pioneer of touch football in NSW ?

Spot on mate. He and his wife Fran have been managing country and state teams for decades. Wonderful people

Would it bother you if he was?
I don't know him, and can't remember dad , his dad, or bc mentioning him.
Got a grudging respect for most ex-Roosters any case.

But I have met quite a few people with the surname Hanson.................Pauline included.
                            What's your effing point????????????????
