James Silver of the Daily telegraph has just posted a pic of Latrell on tomorrows pack page of the Daily Telegraph.

Apparently all the NRL captains were polled and asked who they thought would win the comp this year and from what i can read they said the Roosters and the Storm are the teams to beat.

The picture is really hard to read but i managed to make out most words and below is what i could make out (for those with bad eyesight) .

"What a difference a year makes. NRL captains have stunningly declared the Sydney Roosters are the Melbourne Storms Biggest premiership threat this year"..........the next part obviously has some words missing but this is what i could read (sorry if it sounds like gibberish). "continues his rise to stardom and Boyd Cordner and Jared Warea-Hargreaves to fire after struggling with injuries last season, many rival captains fear the Auckland trophy wont be the only."

Silly predictions this time of year imo. The storm have a track record of being in the mix, and as much belief as I have this time of the year, it took me at least half the season in 2013 to start entertaining the thought of being premiers.

Excited but cautious, let's see what happens

I rate Penrith as the team to beat.

The Storm, Cows and Broncos are all weaker this year so there's space at the top if we're good enough.

We did it in 2013 and also beat them all to 3 minor prems in a row. We can't allow ourselves to be in games that are close enough for the refs to come into play.

I think quite a few teams are in it this year its a hard one to pick .Will it be the youthful sides ?Canberra ,Penriff ? will it be veterans Melbs ,Sharks ..Broncs will Parra have a go? I like our side a good blend of youth and experience .For us it will come down to how good we can defend .Then there is concern of new key attacking combinations .Still there must be a spot for Manu some where.

Our chances of really going well this year come down to how Pearce and Keary combine and i believe both will have stellar seasons. We have the strike power out wide, the forwards will match it with any side in the comp this might very well turn out to be the year of the rooster after all.

I think top 4 is an abitious but achievable result, after that anything can happen ala 2010.

I dont like it when everyone starts saying that the Roosters are the team to beat.
I bet Des & the dirty dogs are loving this. I hate them not as bad as the Broncos but they are not far behind & I cant believe people think they wont be a force.
Penrith & the Raiders are the teams to beat & if Cameron Smith does an ACL or a peck tear the Storms season will be over.
                        Parra are the dark horses.

Wide open comp this year, a lot of teams have claims to win it.

I think the Knights will give it a real shake but my money is on the Dragons.

JFC predictions not that startling or ambitious but...

Easts the big improvers, top 8 for sure who knows after that.

Broncos big sliders and miss the playoffs.

I hope this stuff doesn't go to their heads. Either way, I'm sticking to my previously stated prediction of tenth because the defence of the backs is a concern.
