He actually came across as though he had a brain.
A rare thing in rugby league.

I met his brother Mark a couple of months ago.
He is an orthopedic surgeon with his own practice, and he operated on my shoulder. I'm guessing having a brain is a family trait. He's very similar to his brother in appearance and build, and he's a good bloke who ain't afraid of being honest with his patients , and listens (unlike a lot of doctors) and cares about peoples welfare.
He has David's Australian jersey framed and hanging in his office.

Shillo I recall could play as hard as any forward on his day. Pity we didn't have a coach like Robbo back then.
Always remember him scoring four tries in a game in the under 23's in 2002 , I think it was.
