The guy just refuses to pass. Even in the 9s yesterday there were so many times he could have passed before the line but instead he took the tackle. That hit and spin, and crawl backwards thing he does really pee's me off.

Guerra was terrible in 2015 as well. Giving 500k to a backrower with no skills is bad business, especially when it leaves you with no money to retain your fullback and 5/8.

Yeh Guerra was woeful in 2015 but was re-signed in 2014 when he was brilliant.

Easy to say now he wasnt worth the money but I admitedly thought he was at the time.

It was shocking piece of business back then as well. He was terrific in 2013 and 2014 but it was an awful piece of salary cap management to give a second rower with no skills ( I don't call effort a skill) that sort of money. He wasn't even our best second rower and wasn't even a rep player at the time. You can't be spending too much money on second rowers and three quarters. We did and were left with no money to retain our 5/8 and fullback.

He was a rep player when he re-signed, he had played his first full series for Qld by the time he was re-signed and he wasn't playing second row either he was at lock.

SBW had announced he would be leaving, FPN was coming off another dud season, we hadn't unearthed SST yet and Isaac Liu was still very early in the stages of his development.

Would have been a huge call to let a SOO player walk at the time with SBW leaving, Cordner not even having 50 games under his belt, Aubusson having played as a centre/hooker for whole season, Remi Casty not working out & not a whole lot of depth coming through in the backrow.

I can't fault anyone for re-signing him.

I doubt very much that will happen.
I think they will want to re-sign Cordner, Carter turning 25 this year then Matterson & Smith turning 23 this year then Gray & Frei turning 21 this year & Butcher turning 20 & probably Aubusson & letting Guerra who turns 29 this month go.
