Robbo enters an elite group this year, his fifth as our coach. In 109 years, only THREE coaches have remained in charge for 5 consecutive years - Arthur Holloway (1933 to 1938), Ricky Stuart (2002 to 2006) and Phil Gould (1995 to1999). At 7 consecutive years, he would break the record in 2018 if he is still with us. (Note: other coaches have had multiple stints - Artie had 4.5 years in 3 stints, Jack Gibson and Dave Brown had 5 in 3 and Arthur Holloway had 10 in 4. Also, I couldn't find details of our coaches for the period 1908-28.)

Missed that one - scribbled it down on my scrap of paper, but forgot to include him in my post. Yes - three, not two people have coached for five consecutive years.

Could be worse - in 1990, when Fairfax finished his coaching stint, we had Barry Reilly coach for 2 games (0.08) and Hugh McGahan for 6 games (0.23).

Good coach we will see how he goes this year.This is a better squad than a lot of people think.The pack will more than match it with any pack in the comp, the halves are very good, you have fergo and mitchell running around in the back line this is a very good squad for robbo to manage barring injury this team could surprise a few of the experts and win the premiership

I can't see Robbo as being a man who wants to go back to France. He seems the sort of bloke who will never give up on any task that he gives himself & he will never think that his job is done here. He'll be here for quite a few more years to come in my opinion.

He is contracted for another 3 years so chances are he'll be around for at least that long.

I suspect though that it will probably be a lot longer than that. Didn't Politis say he has a job for life if he wants it? I seem to remember Politis saying something along those lin in an interview last year. Of course all that could change pretty quickly if he has a couple more dud seasons...

Robbo is a career coach. And I'd love for him to hang around for as long as he wants. Sign him up until 2025! That's how much faith I have in him.

Unless he puts his family ahead of his job. Who would blame him.
